What Do Real Estate and Gastronomy Have in Common?" Recently I wrote a post about the use of luxury brands to sell developments, like #MercedesBenzResidences or #BaccaratResidences today I want to share my thoughts regarding the use of culinary brands and new developments, like #Ora by #CasaTua or #MrCs At first glance, real estate and gastronomy might seem like two entirely different worlds. One is about bricks and mortar, the other about flavors and experiences. But dig a little deeper, and you’ll find they share more in common than you might think. 1.- Craftsmanship & Creativity: Both real estate and gastronomy are built on a foundation of craftsmanship. Just as a master chef carefully selects ingredients and creates a dish that delights the senses, developers and architects meticulously design spaces that inspire and comfort. Both require a blend of creativity, expertise, and an eye for detail. 2. Creating Destinations: A well-conceived development, like a celebrated restaurant, becomes a destination in its own right. Just as food lovers flock to a Michelin-starred establishment, people are drawn to beautifully designed buildings and thoughtfully planned communities. Both industries have the power to shape neighborhoods and even define cities. 3. Experience is Everything: Whether it’s a five-star dining experience or a luxury living space, both real estate and gastronomy revolve around creating memorable experiences. A beautifully plated dish or a well-appointed residence can evoke emotions, tell a story, and provide a sense of belonging. 4. Collaboration & Innovation: The most exciting developments and dining experiences often come from collaboration and innovation. Just as chefs experiment with new techniques and flavors, developers are partnering with luxury brands, top architects, and celebrity chefs to create spaces that are as innovative as they are functional. 5. Value Creation: Finally, both industries understand the importance of value—whether it’s the value of a unique culinary experience or the appreciation of a prime piece of real estate. A great restaurant and a well-designed property both enhance their surroundings, elevate expectations, and leave a lasting impression. As the lines between real estate and gastronomy continue to blur, we’re seeing more developments that combine the best of both worlds, offering not just a place to live, but a lifestyle to savor. What do you think? How else do these two industries intersect in today’s market? #RealEstate #Gastronomy #LuxuryLiving #PropertyDevelopment #CulinaryArts #ExperienceDesign

When in Rome, do as the romans do. Or maybe don’t! Sofia Augier is sharing with us some update about Rome’s Luxury F&B scene. First things first, why are we discussing Rome today? Through our new AWARE branch in Florence, we are currently involved in major projects in Italy including a luxury hotel in Rome. Rome is totally booming right now hence the excitement and desire to share. What will be the next trend in Rome? I would say that the younger generation (as everywhere else) is less attached to the sacred ideas of “Authenticity” and that they don’t choose their restaurant based on food only. Makes a lot of sense, think about it for a second. In a country where every mum is a Michelin star chef, what would make you want to not eat at home? Maybe I am exaggerating here but you get the idea. The younger generation don’t go out to restaurants to eat but to experience with all senses. Music, interior design, lighting design, the crowed of course and let’s not forget, to create content for their social media. In that sense Rome is going through the same transformation as Paris. Until recently in Paris you had to choose between eating well or having fun. Unlike in London, there were very few places in Paris and Rome where you could do both. Until recently… How would you say the market has evolved in this post-covid era? Rome now has more tourists than ever and ranks as one of the top 5 visited locations globally. We had 35 million tourists visit Rome in 2023, up from 32 million in 2022. A significant increase from pre-pandemic levels. Italians are known for being very loyal to their cuisine, how does that impact your work as concept creator? When creating a new menu, you should innovate with elegance and a “light touch”. No need to reinvent the wheel. With taking a classic and only adding a twist towards the new and modern it is possible to make a difference. Just ensure the twist makes sense and does not kill the dish. Maybe experiment with presentation, format (more sharing starters and deserts for example) and menu structure (less carb, less heavy options, include a fish counter to your offer…). Also, creativity does not have come from the food offering only. Innovation can take place in the atmosphere created, music, service, and design that are also key to a successful concept. Is there still room for more luxury properties in Rome? Yes absolutely. The recent arrival of global luxury brands is currently helping to diversify the F&B market which creates a virtuous cycle in making the destination even more attractive and alluring. Historically, Rome’s F&B scene was not on par with cities like London in terms of atmosphere and other concept dimensions. At an age where everyone has access to global Food and Beverage latest trends via social media, it is key for Rome to keep developing it’s F&B scene, taking advantage from the momentum created by the recent tourism increase. Are time, personalisation and curated experiences are the new luxury? The term "luxury" gets thrown around quite a bit. But what truly defines a luxurious experience for one person, versus another will greatly vary and it is the hoteliers job to cater for all basis. Is it about the décor, Michelin-starred dining, or a private infinity pool overlooking a breathtaking views? Perhaps it's something more subtle: it's your reading glasses being cleaned before turn down service, your i- phone cabled being carefully curled away or the demonstrative pillow menu that really brings your options to life. As we continue to travel the world and work with some of the leading players in the space we observe a continued evolution of what 'luxury is'. What is luxury to you when it comes to a hotel stay? 🎥 : Atlantis Royal - pillow menu - elegantly brought to life catering for the more tactile guest. ---------------------------------------------------------------- We are The Agency for Hospitality. Digesting Quiet Luxury By Brian Bendix The über-premium, high-intensity and conspicuously ostentatious restaurants with choreographed champagne shows and sparklers galore, continue to thrive across the global gateway capitals. It’s the sensory overload environment with fervent waiters fuelling the atmosphere and waving their napkins to the beats of memorable tunes and encouraging you to do the same. Its riding waves of the aspirational bling and fuelled by social media influencers creating narratives of a lavish lifestyle for public consumption. Whilst the MO of these restaurants is becoming a little repetitive, it’s fair to assume that it’s is now its own category, firmly cemented into the foundation of our dining industry. On the far other side of the spectrum, there is a new category which is equally concerned with atmosphere and environment engineering, but the antagonist to the ostentatious. It’s the understated and seductively charming milieu of stealth wealth. It’s quiet luxury. Whilst quiet luxury is far from new in the fashion world with catalyst leaders like Loro Piana and Brunello Cucinelli and roots dating back to the Renaissance era in Italy, its only recently actively, and consciously, being adopted into the hospitality and dining scene. Today, quiet luxury to many is a mindset, and a way of life. This evolution reflects a shift amongst the truly affluent towards understated elegance and refined simplicity; away from the overt displays of wealth that has flirted with the definition of luxury. Characterized by subtlety and sophistication, it’s about investing in timeless pieces, exquisite craftsmanship, and high-quality materials rather than flaunting logos and brand names. Quiet luxury promotes a greater decorum and authenticity. It’s not about the price tag but the discerning eye that recognizes and values the artistry and effort behind a creation. This mindset fosters a culture of respect and appreciation for quality over quantity and substance over showmanship. In the realm of hospitality, this way of life is beautifully reflected in brands like Aman, Rosewood Hotel Group, and Belmond who epitomize this philosophy, offering experiences marked by understated elegance, personalized service, and a deep respect for privacy and discretion. In the dining sector, some great restaurants, inadvertently and without design fall into this category whilst other great restaurant companies have a focused agenda to populate the space. In either case, the demand is there and the appetite for discovery of brands with greater depth of character and strength of identity is growing. If you have examples of restaurants, bars or beach clubs that you feel genuinely represent quiet luxury and this way of life, I invite, and encourage you, to comment on this article below. #quietluxury #stealthwealth #hospitality #branding #foodanddrink #luxury #restaurants #mondaymotivation
