The hotel scuttlebutt du jour: Hyatt Hotels Corporation is reportedly in advanced talks to link up with Standard International, LLC, the parent company of Standard Hotels. Some might see it as Hyatt's latest lifestyle hotel acquisition after brands like Dream Hotel Group and Thompson Hotels. Some hotel snobs (not me, obviously. I believe they are. It’s an experience, it’s luxurious, it’s hospitality at this finest. They set the tone in hospitality and people’s expectation of what hospitality should be. At the same time, we can all agree that they are not for everybody, they are costly. People also value different things and have different priorities. Thus why there are a variety of hotel brands that target specific lifestyle and needs. That’s also why it’s important to be informed about specific brands when looking to make a reservation. Somethings to consider are: 1- What is the purpose of your trip? 2- does your needs require a full service hotel or just a place to be in and out? 2- what are your absolute must have in room amenities and do they provide that. 3- what’s the vibe you’re going for? #hotels #hospitality #nyhotels https://lnkd.in/eFXc99w8
