Is there a local print business that can make your menus, signs, and flyers? Use them! I want to take a moment to help Hidden Star spread some words. Hidden Star is a nonprofit that helps minority and women entrepreneurs start and grow their own companies. I was fortunate to work with the founder, Mike Dewey, when I was in Austin pursuing my MBA. They are currently raising money with a subscription-based website to help their “Hidden Stars.” The subscription is called Galaxy Plus+, and members can subscribe on a monthly or annual basis. Included in the subscription are: 1, A five-hour “master class” containing the knowledge entrepreneurs need to start and build their own businesses. 2, Access to “Grant Finder” with hundreds of small business grant opportunities. 3, Access to financing sources with potential investors and loan opportunities. 4, Sales contracting opportunities. All the money raised (subtracting marketing expenses) will go to support the Hidden Star network of minority- and women-owned businesses. I think there are two reasons I’m writing this post. First, if you know any minority or women small business owners who could benefit from this, please encourage them to check the links below.
