Resist the temptation to buy crap! 80% OF BLACK FRIDAY PURCHASES ARE THROWN AWAY Conscious Consumerism A growing number of Dutch consumers are prioritizing sustainability. Choosing eco-friendly options, like carbon-neutral delivery, is becoming as important as convenience. However, the greenest choice is to buy less, reducing consumption altogether. At Het Faire Oosten, we do not support crazy consumer events like Black Friday. Instead, we always maintain fair prices that honor both the consumer and the makers. We believe in celebrating mindful shopping and valuing the craftsmanship behind every product. To practice conscious shopping, focus on the eco-friendly R’s: Reuse, Repair, Reduce, Recycle, Rethink, Repurpose. In wealthier countries like the Netherlands, we often have more than we need. By refusing new items, we conserve resources and create less waste. Reflecting before purchasing helps resist marketing traps and promotes a more sustainable lifestyle. This Black Friday, avoid impulsive buys by asking: Do I already own something similar? How often will I use this? How long will it last? Was it made sustainably? Do I truly need it?

Are you trying to be 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 but still feel tempted by Black Friday deals? Me too. The sales are hard to ignore! But what if we could have 𝐚 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭-𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 instead? Here’s my approach: instead of chasing discounts on things I don’t need, I’m doing my best to focus on choices that are kinder to the planet—and better for my peace of mind. That’s why I found EcoTree International’𝐬 5 𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 so handy. Here’s a quick summary: 1️⃣ 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝 Avoid impulse buys by making 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝. This reduces waste, prevents overconsumption, and minimizes your environmental footprint. 2️⃣ Buy 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝-𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐫 𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 Extend the life of pre-owned goods and support a circular economy. Shopping second-hand is a great way to reduce demand for new resources and still snag unique finds. 3️⃣ Support sustainable brands When buying new, choose 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲. Look for eco-friendly materials, ethical practices, and companies contributing to nature preservation. 4️⃣ 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 & 𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞 purchases Reduce transportation emissions by supporting local businesses. If shopping online, bundle your orders to cut down on packaging and shipping waste. 5️⃣ Invest in trees—#BestBadInvestment Instead of buying the 100th T-shirt you don’t really need, invest in something lasting—trees! Trees absorb CO2, enhance biodiversity, and support forest restoration efforts. Black Friday doesn’t have to be about overconsumption. By making intentional choices, we can turn Black Friday into a win for the planet. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘨𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘵-𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘉𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘺? #greenfriday #blackfriday #avoidoverconsumption #sustainablechoices

🛌 Does Black Friday Hurt or Help Sustainable Brands Like Ours? 🛌 As we approach Black Friday, Hoppekids, like many other brands, faces a common dilemma: do heavy discounts during this period help drive sales or erode the brand’s value, especially for companies focused on eco-friendly, sustainable products? 🖱️ Trends we’re noticing: Sustainability First: Customers are increasingly focused on brands that offer eco-friendly products, with many opting for recycled or non-toxic furniture options: https://lnkd.in/dBGQAqfw & https://lnkd.in/d-cDw79s. Price vs. Purpose: While Black Friday encourages deep discounts, sustainable brands are cautious, aiming to balance profitability with ethical production. https://lnkd.in/dUmGZEkb Customer Expectations: There’s a growing consumer trend toward supporting companies that prioritize safety, long warranties, and organic materials for children’s products. https://lnkd.in/d-cDw79s 👉 My question to you: Do you think participating in aggressive Black Friday discounts dilutes a brand’s value, particularly for companies like Hoppekids that prioritize sustainability and quality? Or do you see it as a necessary strategy to stay competitive? Let’s discuss! 💬 www.hoppekids.com #Sustainability #BlackFriday #EcoFriendly #FurnitureTrends #Hoppekids

You grab that 60% off gadget, those half-price sneakers, and the “too-good-to-miss” appliance. Feels like a win, right? But here’s a question: Who’s paying for it? Did you know Black Friday shopping generates 429,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions—in just ONE DAY? That’s the same as running 215,000 cars non-stop for a year. And the packaging? Enough to fill 58 Olympic-sized swimming pools with waste. Even the act of scrolling through deals online has an environmental footprint. Every click, every search—it all adds up. And here’s the irony: Even on days like Earth Day, which are supposed to inspire sustainability, we sometimes fall into the trap of overdoing it. Big events, flashy campaigns, endless merchandise—are we fighting for the planet or adding to the problem? The truth is, real climate action is boring. It’s not about flashy campaigns or big gestures. It’s about consuming less, doing less, and resisting more. It’s about saying: “I don’t need this.” “I won’t throw that away.” “I’ll do nothing instead.” This Black Friday, let’s rethink what we really value. What if the best deal wasn’t 70% off, but a cleaner, healthier planet for everyone? Real action isn’t glamorous—it’s quiet, intentional, and often invisible. Let’s make inaction the boldest action of all.

Black Friday prices every day, but without the rush or stress 🤔 It’s Black Friday week, and consumption is accelerating. Here’s how we approach it at TAKT: We established TAKT to offer exceptional sustainable design furniture at fair prices — always eco-labeled and with a clear, reduced climate footprint. Thoughtfully designed to last a lifetime. For us, fair pricing means offering the best price every day. We don’t inflate list prices only to slash them during sales campaigns. Instead, our users can buy when they’re ready—without the anxiety of missing a “great campaign” just around the corner. In essence, it’s like Black Friday prices every day, but without the rush or stress. This approach also helps us avoid the resource waste caused by fluctuating production and inventory levels — which in turn is also better for the environment. We recognize that our approach limits our commercial impact during weeks like this. I appreciate even more the orders we’re seeing on our webstore. These come from users who understand our logic and support a more thoughtful, sustainable way forward. Thank you for your support! #Sustainability #BlackFriday #FairPricing #ConsciousConsumption
