Welcome back to school this week – students, parents, educators and school staff! ✏️📒🍎 As the new school year begins, it’s crucial for all of us to play a part in keeping our communities safe. Here are some key reminders to think about as school routines start back up again: 🚸 Drive carefully: Be extra cautious in school zones, obey speed limits, and watch for children crossing the street, especially during drop-off and pick-up times. 🚸 Avoid distractions: Always stay off your phone while driving. A moment of distraction can have serious consequences. 🚸 School bus safety: If you’re behind a school bus, be prepared to stop when the bus extends its stop sign. Never pass a bus that is loading or unloading children. 🚸 Keep an eye out for bikes: Many students bike to school. Give them plenty of space and always check your blind spots before turning or opening your car door. 🚸 Support safe routes: Encourage children to walk or bike to school in groups and use designated crosswalks. As a community, let’s ensure sidewalks and paths are safe and well-lit. Your vigilance can help prevent accidents and keep our students safe. Let’s make this school year a safe one for everyone! 👏📓 #BackToSchoolSafety #CommunityFirst #StayAlert #BackToSchool

The third week in October is designated America’s Safe Schools Week each year. This week, the goal is to focus on measures that can be implemented to enhance school safety for students, teachers, visitors, and administrators in school #communities. School safety has always been an integral factor in our work and was one of the main reasons our company was founded. We’re passionate about ensuring that everyone entering school grounds returns home safely. Spreading the word on school safety is critical—employees, students, parents, and community residents can all advocate for top-tier safety measures. Some key steps you can take to initiate positive change in your school community: ✅Introduce programs that inform students and staff regularly about safety risks and what to do in the case of an emergency ✅Teach kids about social media best practices and how technology can be misused ✅Be heard: Parents, students, and community members should voice their opinions and concerns to school employees and administrators The best time to do this is now…Let’s work together to play our part in school safety this week and in the future. #schoolsafety #teamwork

Well-designed athletic facilities are invaluable to schools, enhancing sports and physical education while fostering community pride. These spaces also support youth events and generate revenue through rentals and ticket sales. While certain aspects—like field dimensions—are standard, numerous options can influence performance, safety, and aesthetics. School leaders, coaches, and community members need to weigh these factors carefully when planning or upgrading facilities. Click the link below as we dive into some of these considerations with The Kleingers Group in our latest whitepaper. https://lnkd.in/gE4s2RgC

A reminder that school will start today/tomorrow in both School Districts #27/28 (Cariboo-Chilcotin/Quesnel) so some good tips here as well as please remember that you can expect that the RCMP will be out in school zones enforcing speed limits in school zones which is 8 AM to 5 PM when school is in session. Here in BC - the fine for speeding in a school zone ranges between $196 to $253 and that goes up considerably if it is 40 km or more over the posted limit, as well as having your vehicle impounded for excessive speed …. So this morning, take your time as kids return to school for the new school year. ———————- **📢 Back to School Reminder: 30 km/h Speed Zones Are in Effect! 🚸** With the school year kicking off, it's time for all of us to be extra mindful on the roads. School zones are now back to 30 km/h during designated hours, and it's crucial to slow down to keep our kids safe. Whether you're a parent, a student, or just passing through, please remember: 1. **Watch for signs** indicating when the speed limit drops. 2. **Be alert** for children crossing the road, especially near crosswalks and bus stops. 3. **Give yourself extra time** to get to your destination, so you’re not tempted to speed. Let’s all do our part to ensure a safe and happy school year for everyone. Slow down, stay focused, and help make our community safer. 🚦👶 #BackToSchool #SafetyFirst #SlowDownSaveLives
