Ten months ago, when I quit my teaching job and decided to enroll in a Montessori Primary 3-6 year diploma course, I was told by everyone, including my employers, to reconsider my decision. I was told that the Montessori method is outdated and even obsolete. What was my purpose and how did the learning environment affect me would be the topic of another post, but little did I know that this course would determine the path of my future actions. Not only have I internalized her philosophy, but I have also become an ambassador of Montessori education. What people don't know is that the foundation of early childhood education is based on Dr. Maria Montessori's research and philosophy. Yesterday, I presented before my classmates at Iqra University (Official) Dr. Maria Montessori's social perspective of education. In the first chapter of her book The Absorbent Mind, titled The Child's Role in Social Reconstruction, she states that the function of education is to prepare the child to be a man who can direct and mold the future of mankind. I also spoke about Dr. Montessori's research on human tendencies, the absorbent mind, and the four planes of development. I also mentioned the principles and elements of the Montessori method, along with its curriculum and assessment method. Some of the highlights of my presentation are in the video. Maria Montessori's profound insight challenges our traditional understanding of education. Her quote, "Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment," is a revolutionary perspective on how children truly learn. For too long, we've viewed education as a top-down process—teachers speaking, children listening. But children are not empty vessels waiting to be filled with information. They are active explorers, natural scientists who learn through touching, doing, and experiencing. What Real Learning Looks Like: - 🌱 Hands-on Exploration: Children learn best when they can interact directly with their environment - 🧩 Sensory Engagement: Learning involves all senses, not just hearing - 🌈 Context Matters: Environment shapes understanding more deeply than isolated facts Our Approach: Learning as a Natural Unfolding Our Montessori understands that children have an innate desire to learn. They don't need to be forced or coerced—they need: - Carefully prepared environments - Freedom to explore - Respectful guidance - Opportunities for self-directed discovery Reach us via DM, email aqnoffice@gmail.com or call 07081864078 to learn how we can foster natural learning experiences for your kids. #Aquillanodusmontessori #Montessorischools #Childlearning #Howtoteachachild

"The secret of good teaching is to regard the child's intelligence as a fertile field in which seeds may be sown, to grow under the heat of flaming imagination."- Maria Montessori With a focus on the Whole Child philosophy, Montessori education prioritizes the holistic development of every aspect of a child's being—physical, social, emotional, and cognitive. Central to this approach is the concept of resourcefulness—the ability to create solutions and navigate challenges creatively. In a Montessori classroom, resourcefulness thrives through the Socratic method, where teachers ignite curiosity through thought-provoking questions and engaging presentations. This dynamic environment encourages students to harness their imagination, generating innovative ideas in response to real-world challenges while cultivating essential executive functions such as reasoning, memory, and problem-solving. By encouraging resourcefulness, we empower children to recognize their creative potential and tackle challenges with confidence. Let's inspire our children to explore their limitless creativity! Consider seeking Montessori tutoring to help your child develop this essential skill for lifelong success.
