𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐩𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲 🚀 Creating sustainable climate initiatives is at the heart of AgriFoodTure’s mission, and we work on creating solutions to secure climate, environment, and biodiversity while safeguarding food production and employment and powering a new generation of export opportunities 🌍🌿 Therefore, we are very happy to announce that we have recently received new funding from Innovation Fund Denmark. The funding will be used for a new pool of projects that will turbocharge the transition to a greener agriculture and food system. The main theme for the new pool of projects is “Accelerating Impact and Implementation of Climate Solutions Towards 2030”. The projects in the new pool should all have two key elements: 🏃 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐭-𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭: The projects sprint toward the finish line, leaving a trail of reduced greenhouse gas emissions in their wake. 🌍 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬: The projects pave the way for a society ready to embrace change. Imagine a harmonious blend of community engagement, user adoption, and consumer enthusiasm. With the new pool of projects, we allocate 15% of the funds to new partners, welcoming fresh faces into AgriFoodTure. Another 15% goes towards investment in knowledge-based development projects in small and medium-sized Danish enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurial companies, igniting sparks of innovation More information will follow 📢🔍 #climateaction #greentransition

Webinar 2nd – Green & Blue Economy On May 14th, the ORIGINN project hosted a webinar on the topic of the Green Economy. The purpose of the webinar was to showcase Good Practices from the seven regional authorities who make up the ORIGINN consortium. Moderated by Dr Geraldine Brennan of CirculÉire, Ireland’s national platform for circular manufacturing, the webinar featured a full agenda of diverse and interesting presentations. Each partner invited a local stakeholder to present their Good Practice, and these were followed by a lively questions and answers session. The webinar was attended by 54 participants, including policy-makers, industry actors, and civil society organisations, spanning three time zones across Europe. They tuned in to hear about organic farmers organising for policy improvement in Estonia, and the cutting-edge Bioeconomy Hub in Catalonia; they heard about Emilia-Romagna’s policies to drive the development of the blue economy, and Jämtland Härjedalen’s innovative project to develop circular business models; they took a tour through Centru’s agri-tourism heartland, and learned about a great example of public-private partnership for circular manufacturing in Prešov. While the Good Practices presented covered a variety of issues and policy areas, the common element was the innovative nature of the interventions they described. Innovation which is at the heart of ORIGINN’s mission to support sustainable and transformative development of our rural communities. #bioeconomy #blueeconomy #circular #circulareconomy #Greeneconomy #Innovation #Rural #Sustainabledevelopment #Sustainableinnovation

⭐ How can we do more with less? ⭐ 🐟 This question is at the heart of #100PercentFish and focuses on the very real need to not waste any of the precious seafood that we catch and farm around the world 🐟 💡 But this question goes beyond just the seafood sector 💡 Last month I got the opportunity to explore this question applied to #MultiUseAtSea and #CoLocation in the marine environment - and share some of the lessons we have learned at Iceland Ocean Cluster that are key to #DoingMoreWithLess with seafood, with space, with all our finite resources at sea. Thank you The Nordic Council of Ministers and The Nordic Council Nordic Innovation Jordbruksverket for the chance to share these cross-sectoral lessons at the Nordic conference on Co-Location in Marine Industries. I wanted to present my favourite ones I have learned since joining Thor Sigfusson PhD at the Iceland Ocean Cluster here: 💡 Well placed management & policy can be a source of incentive to re-thinking resource use. 💡 Effective ideas don´t have to be brand new, complicated or large scale - starting small and aiming for easy wins are key to build momentum, trust and appetite for more ambitious ideas. 💡 When great ideas emerge - tell those success stories loudly and widely! 💡 Collaborating across sectors means a greater diversity of resources to draw from and often means good ideas can emerge faster! 💡 Some big ideas will be transformational to a movement - get behind them and spread the word! 💡 If it is clear how each partner in a collaboration might gain value from working together - it is much easier to bring them to the same table for effective dialogue. 💡 The importance of trust - which requires understanding - cannot be underestimated - and it often cannot be rushed! 💡 A clear, global need and well articulated vision, supported by quantitative data is a deeply powerful way to bring people together on some of our most urgent shared challenges. #blueeconomy #transferableknowledge #trust #collaboration #MultiUseAtSea #Nordics Thordur Reynisson Emil Gejrot Johan Penner Frej Gustafsson Sonja Andrén BlueBioClusters Project 🇪🇺 Innovatum AB Iceland Ocean Cluster Thor Sigfusson PhD Iceland Ocean Cluster Justine Vanhalst

🚢 How can ports catalyze innovation to support a sustainable blue economy? This World Maritime Day, we celebrate not only how maritime trade is the backbone of global commerce, but it's key role in developing a sustainable blue economy. Ports are more than logistics hubs—they are positioned to be a center of innovation to support sustainable development in the blue economy and play a key role in decarbonization and marine conservation. Acting in many roles, including as landlords, operators, regulators, and environmental stewards, they hold massive opportunities to drive change through public-private partnerships. In this Agenda Blog, the Port of San Diego shares examples of these public-private partnerships, including how their Blue Economy Incubator is fostering innovation by helping start-ups develop and scale new solutions that support sustainable ocean use. Read more ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dfBHkX-h 💡 The future of maritime is one where innovation, sustainability, and commerce work hand in hand. ⚓ World Maritime Day: Ports as Catalysts for Blue Economy Innovation 🌊 Ports play a pivotal role in the global trade network, handling 80% of goods by sea. But they are also becoming vital champions of the blue economy—driving sustainable innovation in marine industries such as aquaculture, coastal infrastructure, and marine technology. 🌿 By embracing public-private partnerships, ports are evolving into hubs for environmental stewardship and entrepreneurship, leveraging their proximity to urban and coastal ecosystems. 🌍 Initiatives like the Port of San Diego’s Blue Economy Incubator demonstrate how ports can support blue tech startups and foster sustainable marine solutions, from eco-friendly aquaculture to nature-inclusive infrastructure like ECOncrete tide pools that enhance both ecosystems and coastlines. 🐠 Around the world, other ports are stepping up, with projects like AltaSea in Los Angeles and Washington Maritime Blue in Seattle, showing how ports can help address global challenges like climate change and marine conservation through innovation. 🚢 This World Maritime Day, let's celebrate the essential role ports play in global trade while exploring how they can become incubators of the blue economy, accelerating the transition to a greener and more sustainable maritime sector. 🌎 Read the full article from World Economic Forum here: https://lnkd.in/dfBHkX-h #WorldMaritimeDay #BlueEconomy #SustainablePorts #MaritimeInnovation #PublicPrivatePartnerships #BlueTech #MarineConservation #GreenMaritime

GREEN KNOWLEDGE, BEST SEEDS FOR THE FUTURE Two weeks ago, the Valencian Community suffered one of the most tragic days of recent years with the flash floods. The core principles of prevention, proactiveness and coordination has been critical under these tragic circumstances, where every minute matters. Life goes on, and this week we welcomed a group of chinese executives from ADBC, as speakers. Congrats Marta García de Alcaraz from KNOHAO LTD., LLC for managing a trully compelling #GreenAgenda: BIOCOMERCIO, Climate-KIC, Caixa Popular, Comité de Agricultura Ecológica Comunitat Valenciana, Fundación de Estudios Bursátiles y Financieros, Fundación Cajamar. In my case, it was a big pleasure speaking about the Valencian Community as a financial centre, its importance for Valencian-based global private banks and about sustainable finance instruments for european SMEs. Sustainable finance has a key role to play in delivering on the policy objectives under the European green deal as well as the EU’s international commitments on climate and sustainability objectives. It does this by channelling private investment into the transition to a climate-neutral, climate-resilient, resource-efficient and fair economy, as a complement to public money. The European Union strongly supports the transition to a low-carbon, more resource-efficient and sustainable economy and has been at the forefront of efforts to build a financial system that supports sustainable growth. Now that I´ve time to catch my breath, it seems like a great idea gathering European and Asian financial professionals for networking. All together starting to get ahead about sustainable finance and best organic farming. My grandfather used to say that once in your life you need a doctor, a lawyer, a policeman and a preacher but every day, three times a day, you need a farmer. Organic farming respects the world and prepare us for the best future. #Asia #EuropeanUnion #Export #Organicfarming #Sustainablefinance
