It finally happened 🎉 Since the day I launched StampFans last year, I've wanted someone to start a publication for kids. I've got 5 kids of my own, and I see firsthand how excited they get to receive a *real* letter in the *real* mail – something they can touch with their hands and keep on their bedside table. Caroline Guirgis has just launched "Bright Minds Adventures" – an exciting and faith-filled newsletter for children ages 5-10. Each edition has engaging stories, fun puzzles, hands-on crafts, easy recipes, and valuable Biblical lessons that help young minds grow in knowledge, creativity, and faith. Her mission? "To teach children God's love and wisdom through exciting activities that spark curiosity, inspire kindness, and build strong foundations of Christian values." I couldn't be more excited to watch this grow! Link in comments – consider getting a subscription for a child in your life 😉

Got 347 rank in the #LeetCode Biweekly Contest 127, Approaches: Solution 2: The approach is that one player plays from 1st index to the right and other player plays from last index to the left, we just need to find that particular index where the win games of 1st player is greater than 2nd player, I use suffix array to store the win and lose games of the 2nd player and iterate on array using a loop while maintaining another variable to store win and lose games for the 1st player. Submission link: https://lnkd.in/gW7i-WGT Solution 3: It is basically a sliding window problem, where we use two variable start and end to denote the subarray, we also maintain a "or" variable to store the or for the subarray between start and end indices. The main problem is that how we will shorten the array or remove the element at index start and calculate the new_or, so for tackling this problem we use a array of size 32 to store the set bits of the elements of the subarray, this array is used to calculate the new_or after removing the element at start index. 🌏 We announced Expo Atlas on stage at AppJS Conf. For those of you who missed it here's a live demo of Atlas from Evan Bacon. Atlas gives you a live source map explorer of your Bundle where you can click on a file and see why it was imported, which is incredible because usually when you have a source map explorer, you just see that it's in there and then you have to hunt through your code to figure out why something was included. In Atlas you can also see how code is treated when it's actually converted, which is really nice because if you're new to Expo this really peels back the curtains. If you're trying to learn about how React works behind the scenes with Babel, Atlas is a great tool to do that. https://lnkd.in/gG7_8n5b

Marqo 2.12 is a huge release. Audio and video embeddings are a big deal. And the ability to integrate right into Hugging Face means it's easier than ever to tap into an ever-growing collection of #embedding models to bring #AI into your applications. For example, compare Marqo's extensive list of supported models to the small collection of models supported by Google Cloud Vertex AI. Marqo: https://lnkd.in/gP9GnjCs Google: https://lnkd.in/gwJ8xZkc More embeddings = better AI-powered apps and products.
🚀 Marqo 2.12.0 is here 🚀 ...and it's brimming with awesome new features! ⭐️ You can now index, embed, and search with video and audio files using Marqo, extending your search capabilities beyond text and images! ⭐️ Load OpenCLIP models directly from HuggingFace by providing a model name with the hf-hub: prefix. This simplifies model integration and expands your options. ⭐️ Load custom OpenCLIP checkpoints with different image preprocessors. Allow loading a custom OpenCLIP checkpoint with a different image preprocessor by providing imagePreprocessor in the model properties. This offers greater flexibility in model selection and customization. A huge thank you to all our 4.4k stargazers and community members! We’ve come a long way as a team and as a community, so a huge thanks to everyone who continues to support Marqo. A few years back, we had the unique opportunity to collaborate with Kimmo, an indie game developer whose dedication and passion shine through his work on Barbearian (https://lnkd.in/etZfu6S). This collaboration wasn't just another project for us; it was a chance to underscore our commitment to indie developers—the real fighters in the trenches of game development. Kimmo’s journey, marked by a decade of solo development, is a vivid narrative of what it means to be an indie dev. It’s about the grit and perseverance required to bring a vision to life, often without the resources and safety nets available to larger studios. His story, especially our role in localizing Barbearian for Japanese and Chinese markets, emphasizes that our services extend far beyond the AAA studios nested in their high-rise glass offices. Our work with Kimmo was a testament to the importance of accessibility and cultural resonance in gaming, proving that great stories and engaging gameplay know no borders. Localization for indie games like Barbearian is more than just translating words; it’s about conveying the heart and soul of the game to a global audience, ensuring every player’s experience is as immersive and authentic as intended. Kimmo’s dedication to his craft, against the backdrop of an industry often dominated by major players, highlights the significant role indie developers play in enriching the gaming landscape with fresh, innovative ideas. It was an honor to support Kimmo, a true soldier in the game development trenches, fighting to bring his unique vision to players around the world. We’re here not only for the “suit guys” but for creators like Kimmo, who remind us of the vibrant diversity and creativity in the gaming world. Our collaboration with him reinforces our belief in supporting the underdog, the indie developer working tirelessly in their attic, dreaming big and daring to make those dreams a reality. It’s these stories that inspire us to do what we do, providing the bridge that connects indie games with a global audience, one localization at a time.
I wrote a little story about how it's been being an independent game developer on my own for the last 10 years. https://lnkd.in/d5pFAnq5
