The #BLUEBOOST consortium meeting is doing great. 👏 Once all #IMTA scenarios that will be conducted in Portugal, Spain, Poland, Italy and Brazil were presented, today we learnt how to share our datasets under FAIR principles and how to organize our data management plan. Great master class from Carmen Reverté Thanks to #BlueEconomyEU for giving us this amazing oportunity for building strong bridges towards the transitioning to sustainable aquaculture models through #IMTA.

We are pleased to welcome REGENA as a new Independent Validator for projects certified under the Ases On-Chain Protocol #aOCP. REGENA is a Brazilian company with extensive experience in ecology, biodiversity, agricultural engineering and regenerative aquaculture. Their solid track record as verifiers includes meticulous evaluations of agri-food schemes aligned with international standards, especially in organic production systems. REGENA leads the Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) of various innovative and decentralized projects, focusing mainly on soil management and carbon sequestration to drive initiatives in regenerative finance. The incorporation of REGENA into our body of Independent Validators will be a great asset for our standard, as it promotes transparency in our certified projects, validating quality projects. Being at the forefront of technological development is a core strategy for Hofseth. We believe that the growth in aquaculture must occur in more closed systems, and we can point to promising results with Egget. However, a rapid shift in Norway requires political will. #BlueBioTechpreneurs is proud to contribute to a more sustainable blue economy in Europe, thanks to the EU #EMFAF 2023 funding #10yearsEMFaF 🌊🌍🐠 Read the EMFaF story: Ten years ago, on 15 May 2014, the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) Regulation was adopted. This marks the date when for the first time the European Commission delegated the implementation of part of the fund to a European Executive Agency and new funding possibilities opened for beneficiaries. Since its launch, the fund has achieved great results, supporting fisheries science and innovative blue economy solutions for citizens, companies, fishing and coastal communities and the environment. Since 2021, the fund is called the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) and is managed by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA). #innovation #support #development #networking #research #skills hashtag #networkingevent #research #skills #bluebiotechpreneurs #transversalskills #fromresearchtopractice #entrepreneurship #education #students #phd SUBMARINER Network for Blue Growth EEIG CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency BlueBio Alliance Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique BlueBioClusters Project 🇪🇺 AlgaeProBANOS SeaMark WIN-BIG project Mission Ocean COOL BLUE: Community Ocean Farms and Local Business Clusters in the Baltic & North Seas Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark University of Gdansk

Guess who tops our rankings, Reykjavik? At Spheric Research we grinded the numbers on four years of project data to come up with a points system that shows where land-based aquaculture projects are advancing the most. My talk at this week's RAStech Magazine event in Charlotte, North Carolina will show which regions are doing the best at building RAS and land-based aquaculture projects. A common thread among winners is the willingness of local investors and domestic lenders to back local projects. The data, available in our annual report, provides a breakdown at the country level and can even be analyzed for production systems (full salmon RAS vs hybrid flow through, for example)
Spheric Research will unveil a points system that shows how much progress has been made in developing land-based projects around the world, at the RAStech Magazine event starting in Charlotte, North Carolina, tomorrow. The index has been generated from Spheric Research’s project database starting in 2020, and based on over 370 data points. The Land-based Aquaculture Report will show indices for individual countries and different types of production systems (full RAS, hybrid flow through systems). Australia's blue economy is set to surge past $100 billion annually by 2025, with aquaculture leading the charge. This represents a 126% increase from the $74.2 billion recorded in 2013-14. Aquaculture, growing at 5.3% CAGR, is outpacing most traditional industries, offering robust investment opportunities. With only 0.1% of Australia's maritime jurisdiction currently used, the potential for expansion is enormous. (Oscar Hillerstorm). 📢🌊My article in FOODReporter, covering the 3rd Aquaculture Sector Conference 2024, organized by AMBIO SA S.A. with the support of the Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization and the scientific collaboration of the Agricultural University of Athens. 🌍 As the climate crisis is now a reality, the need to change production methods is imperative. #New technologies and #sustainable practices are shaping the future of the sector, and it is crucial for manufacturing to invest in them to enhance their competitiveness. 💡🔄 📦 Additionally, new consumer trends indicate a demand for easy and ready-to-eat final products. Meeting these demands can open new markets and further boost the sector's growth. 🍽️🔝 🐟 The aquaculture sector is extremely important for our country's economy, but to continue growing, it must adapt to new challenges and invest in modern technologies. 📈🤝 #FoodReporter #Boussias #AquaCultureCongress2024 #SustainableDevelopment #NewTechnologies #ClimateChange
