🛢️ Noble Voyager Begins Drilling at Sloanea-2 Well in Block 52 Offshore Suriname The Noble Voyager drillship has initiated drilling operations at the Sloanea-2 well located in Block 52, as confirmed by Staatsolie to OilNOW. After completing drilling activities at the Fusaea-1 well, Petronas has decided to extend its contract with Noble Corporation for the Voyager to proceed with drilling the additional Sloanea-1 well. Notable discoveries, including a major oil find at Roystonea-1 in November 2023 and a gas discovery at Sloanea-1 in 2020, have showcased promising reservoir qualities within the Campanian sandstone formations. Block 52, spanning 4,749 square kilometers in the Guyana-Suriname Basin, presents significant potential for further development offshore Suriname. This follows TotalEnergies’ recent announcement of intentions to develop resources in Block 58. Operated by Petronas with a 50% interest, Block 52 also involves ExxonMobil, holding the remaining 50% stake in the exploration activities within the region.

This is part of the company's broader exploration efforts in the northern Mahalo Gas Hub, where Comet Ridge holds 100% equity in four ATP areas. The Mahalo East 1 well is about 25 kilometres east of the Mahalo North Pilot Scheme, where 2P and 3P Reserves have already been certified. The well has two key objectives: to gather core and log data across the coal reservoirs and to serve as a production well for the upcoming Mahalo East 2 lateral well. 𝗔𝗡𝗣 Approves Alto de Cabo Frio Central Discovery Evaluation Plan (PAD) Earlier this week, ANP approved the Discovery Evaluation Plan (PAD) related to well 1-BRSA-1383A-RJS, known as PAD 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗯𝗼 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹-𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲. The well, drilled in 2022, had positive results in pre-salt reservoirs in the Alto do Cabo Frio Central block, situated between the Campos and Santos basins. The block was acquired on the 3rd Production Sharing Bid Round by the consortium Petrobras (50%) and bp (50%). Petrobras is also required to submit the Exploration Work Plan (PTE) within 30 days.
