The research we are currently conducting aims to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of social capital in Guernsey and its vital role in economic growth and social wellbeing. While I was there in June, I had the opportunity to talk about the research, and I gave a little update on what we had found so far. #socialcapital

Eenhana and Ruacana strengthen ties: Maria David THE Eenhana and Ruacana Town Councils recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on various areas of agreed partnerships and cooperation for mutual benefits. This was done in an effort to improve service delivery between the two town councils. Town Mayor Omri-Onn Kavandje said that the MOU aims to strengthen cooperation and partnerships in various areas such as Environmental Management, Local Economic Development, Human Resources Management, Infrastructure Planning and Development, Finance, Public Health, and Community Development. --- Furthermore, he indicated that the initiative will assist both parties in learning from each other’s best practices in service delivery, in accordance with the Local Authority Act, (Act No. 23 of 1992). The MOU will also serve as instrumental guidance for further collaborations on different components such as developmental projects, knowledge and resource sharing, cultural and social exchange programs, capacity building, training, and leadership skills, among others.
