Africa #aviation_trails 🌍 At the 33rd ACI #Africa Annual General Assembly, Regional Conference, Exhibition, and Airshow, held from 16 to 22 September 2024 in Johannesburg, South Africa, Airports Council International - ACI Africa proudly recognized the winners of the prestigious 2024 #Safety #Awards. This year’s theme, "Excellence in Airport Emergency Management and Resilience," highlighted six #airports that stood out in this critical category. In addition to the #safety awards, five African airports were honored for their exceptional achievements in the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) Program, managed by ACI EUROPE. The #ACA program sets the global benchmark for airport #carbon management, showcasing airports that excel in reducing their carbon #footprint and contributing to #environmental sustainability. In total, airports from seven African #countries were recognized, with South Africa and Côte d'Ivoire each having two airports honored. In addition to enhancing aviation collaboration via global partnerships, fostering innovation, sustainable air travel, and cultural exchange. 🔳This year, there were more than 5000 experts who represented global airline leaders, aviation authority officials from participating countries, manufacturers, airport executives and industry leaders. LOT Polish Airlines Has Connected Warsaw and Saudi Arabia. A New Direct Flight to Riyadh The 4th of June 2024 witnessed the inaugural flight of LOT Polish Airlines to the capital city of Saudi Arabia. Riyadh has become the second city on the Arabian Peninsula in the national carrier’s flight network, after Dubai.
