The technology sector needs many more initiatives to promote startup-corporates connections. If governments, foundations and corporations could match funds, initiatives like the Land Innovation Fund and those launched within innovation hubs like the PwC Agtech Innovation would mainstream sustainability at the exponential paste we need to reach the Paris Agreement and COP biodiversity targets.

The best panels are always the most diverse one. Earlier this week, I was sitting among specialist and generalist funds from across the US, UAE, Singapore as we exchanged notes on the biggest challenges for our regions and how we saw the #Agritech #investment opportunities. Some of the most interesting takeaways were the ways we were all looking to identify different pockets - be it the importance of new models to support regional food security, the potential to reduce carbon footprints through alternate protein production or how to extract lessons from B2C or B2B models that could be localized to new regions. It's clear there are several approaches to drive strong financial returns in the Agritech space as an investor that leverages your own strengths - be it your regional network, your exposure to a range of startups in more mature ecosystems or an extremely deep technical expertise. Ours was far from the only exciting session of the event as I left with notes on an interesting set of startups, a set of takeaways on vertical farming, and innovative financing models being applied by others like Manpreet Kaur, Padam Singhania and Amit Grover to solve different challenges in the space.
