As much as the job market for treasury practitioners changes, one factor continues to stay the same: Based on advertised jobs, junior level roles (Analysts and Managers) far outweigh senior level roles (Directors, Assistant Treasurers, Treasurers). How big is the variation? Openings for Analysts and Managers consistently make up over 80% of advertised jobs in the treasury market at any given time, and that has been true for as long as I've been recruiting in the space. What does this mean for you? Well, a few things... If you're looking for an Analyst or a Manager role, you're going to have an easier time and more opportunities available to you. If you're looking to hire an Analyst or Manager, you're entering a much more competitive market for talent. If you're looking for a Director, Assistant Treasurer, or Treasurer role, you're entering a very competitive market. This means you'll have fewer options and your search could take longer. If you're looking to hire a Director, Assistant Treasurer, or Treasurer, you face a different set of challenges. You can expect to receive a large amount of applicants. This can overwhelm your recruiting team and increase the chances of quality applicants being overlooked in the process. The good news? Whether you're looking for your next role or you're looking to hire your next practitioner at any level, this is where Mike Richards and I come in - we can help! Treasury is all we recruit. We are in the market and speaking to companies and practitioners daily, so reach out if you need us.
