Military service should be gradually re-established in Europe. To allow the European armies to face the Russian army when there is no longer the Ukrainian army... A re-establishment of conscription that deserves to be concerted at the European level.

Putin orders increase in Russian army manpower Russia’s Army will become the world’s second largest after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on Monday ordering its size to be increased to almost 2.389 million people, including 1.5 million active servicemen, beginning from December 1. Russia last expanded its army to 2,209,130 people, including 1.32 million servicemen, in December 2023. The move will add 180,000 troops to Russia’s active force as soon as the winter comes. According to statistical data, China has the largest number of active combat soldiers, or 2.035 million personnel. India and the United States come second and third, with 1.445 million and 1.328 million, respectively. Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry explained that the move comes amid NATO’s aggressive activity and expansion. The military said that the increase in the army’s size would be gradual as more contract personnel would be added. #business #finance #financialservices

As an ex-soldier I know what every Israeli knows - the IDF is the army with the highest moral standards in the world. No other army is providing food, water and medicine to its enemy. No other army informs its enemy where and when it'll strike, so they can evacuate citizens, even when it means losing a possibility to kill terrorists. No other army is using small and precise missiles to kill only terorists without collateral damage, even when they cost 10x and hard to get. No other army cancels operations and misses opportunities, to save enemy life. This is not theory, I was part of it, and saw first hand how decisions take into account international law (to the point lawyers are an active part of the task force) and human lives (enemy lives, make no mistake). So how is it women and children still get killed, you ask? The answer is simple: Hamas is using them as human shields, so it can blame the IDF for it. Every school, every hospital, every mosque and many homes, with children, are military bases, containing bombs, missiles and other weapons. That is why Israel insists on evacuating population from combat zones, and that is why Hamas is shooting Palestinian citizens which try to leave active battle zones. In spite of that the stats are clear: civilian to military death toll ratio is the lowest the world has seen! Don't fall for Hamas propaganda.
An Israel Defense Forces soldier found an abandoned woman and child in Gaza and looked after them until they could get help. The moral army in the world. 🇮🇱❤️ #standwithisrael

Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) released its latest report, Staffing the Mission: Lessons from the U.S. Reconstruction of Afghanistan: The report examines how U.S. officials were unable to overcome critical deficiencies in U.S. military and civilian personnel practices during two decades in Afghanistan. In our consultations and interviews, this problem was identified by almost every person who worked in Afghanistan as one of the most critical issues that confronted our efforts there. It included: (1) a recurring inability to staff a demanding mission, (2) rapid turnover of the staff they did find, and (3) poor coordination between military and civilian organizations. This report is the 13th lessons learned report issued by SIGAR. For full report click here: https://lnkd.in/e6mwjz-A

Fallujah Iraq and Gaza In late 2004 the US military attacked the insurgents in Fallujah, Iraq. The US military encircled the city, and prevented any male from age 15 to 50 to leave the city. Around 30 to 50 thousand civilians were trapped in the city, while the battle lasted around 6 weeks. Fast forward to 2024. Twenty years later, the US administration pressures Israel not to attack the city of Rafah in South Gaza, before letting all civilians out of the city. What is the difference between Fallujah and Rafah? Are civilian Iraqis less guarded that civilian Gazans? Or, maybe the US administration today uses different standard in urban warfare for Israel than it used for the US military in Iraq? Anyone has an answer?

The U.S. Army is slashing the size of its force by about 24,000, or almost 5 , and restructuring to be better able to fight the next major war, as the service struggles with recruiting shortfalls that made it impossible to bring in enough soldiers to fill all the jobs. The cuts will mainly be in already-empty posts — not actual soldiers — including in jobs related to counter-insurgency that swelled during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars but are not needed as much today. About 3,000 of the cuts would come from Army special operations forces.
