We’re thrilled to introduce our very first Nordic Nuclear Report, and we truly hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do. This inaugural edition includes a range of Nordic and international news, insightful statistics, expert interviews, and a dive into this autumn’s report on financing new nuclear projects in Sweden. If you’re interested in subscribing to the Nordic Nuclear Report, or any of our other reports, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Staffan at staffan@bodeckerpartners.com. We’d love to hear from you!

Playing my part today . Delighted to be invited to be a member of the panel in support of governments engagement event and "deep dive" discussions. It's so important to bring forward diverse thinking and avoid a single group think when responding to this consultation which closes 12 April 2024 "seeking views to understand how government can support investment in advanced nuclear technologies and enable high value projects to be taken forward." https://lnkd.in/ey-CbEkP

Thrilled to finally be able to share this- we recently got to work with a panel of nuclear experts in Vienna to forecast likely developments in North Korean nuclear strategy. The full results will be out soon. Combining good forecasting and top experts like this is always so interesting https://lnkd.in/gcFHQYeg

🎉 You did it! S.870 – the new reconciled version of the Advanced Energy Advancement Act (AEAA) and the Accelerating Deployment of Versatile, Advanced Nuclear for Clean Energy (ADVANCE) Act – passed the House with overwhelming bipartisan support last week. That means we are one step closer to seeing the next generation of nuclear power come online. S.870 streamlines the deployment of next-generation nuclear technologies by enabling more efficient and predictable licensing and regulation. The future of nuclear is now! 🗓️ What’s next? The bill now goes back over to the Senate where it is likely to pass quickly. The Senate already passed the ADVANCE Act last year, so we expect a similarly high level of support for this version of the same pro-nuclear legislation. After that, the legislation will go the President’s desk to be signed into law. Then the important work of advancing nuclear energy in the U.S. continues…

A historic, first-ever #NuclearEnergySummit is ongoing in Brussels, gathering world leaders to highlight how #nuclearenergy may address a variety of global challenges, and we are proud to announce that Hunton Andrews Kurth attorneys George Borovas and Inna Pletukhina, Esq. are there. Summit decision makers have the knowledge to create policies to facilitate effective, peaceful, global use of nuclear science and technology. George and Inna bring a legal perspective to the Summit—from determining who will pay for cost- and schedule- overruns to counseling on a fair transfer of IP in a technology license—and look forward to discussing how contract-based deployment can move nuclear energy forward. https://ow.ly/Re9750QXSay

There are only two weeks until Nordic Nuclear Forum gathers nuclear experts, policymakers and opinion leaders around the world to Helsinki. ☀️ https://lnkd.in/db8cfcg3 I’m especially excited about the honour to host panel discussion on nuclear life-cycle management at the end of the first day of the conference. Efficient, comprehensive and transparent life-cycle management plays vital role in this nuclear industry’s new blooming era with several different nuclear newbuild, modernization and life-time extension, decommissioning and final disposal projects on-going and starting in Europe. For instance, we in Fortum have recent first-hand experiences on carrying out projects at all of these life-cycle phases. ♻️🔄🧬 What are the key elements and aspects that shall be considered in nuclear life-cycle management and how should we be prepared to challenges of different phases of nuclear life-cycle? Those are the questions and topics we are going to address, breakdown and discuss about with my brilliant panelist colleagues Johan Svenningsson from Uniper, Philippe Bordarier from Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe, Peter Berben from ENGIE and Petteri Tiippana from STUK - Säteilyturvakeskus. ⭐️ Come and see how we are going to manage on that💡 #nuclearenergy #lifecyclemanagement

Global demand for nuclear energy is soaring. But for the US to stay competitive, we need to be able to meet international safeguards and nonproliferation requirements. In October, Third Way and the US Mission to International Organizations in Vienna hosted a private convening, bringing together key stakeholders to help the US prepare for the rigors of competing in a multi-billion-dollar global market. The strategy is simple: by proactively aligning with international nonproliferation standards and practices, American nuclear companies can gain an edge overseas, outpace rivals like Russia and China, and ensure American leadership in the emerging advanced nuclear industry. Great discussions at @EnergyDays in Poland this week. Our Head of Sourcing Anna Kopytowska joined a panel of industry and government experts discussing the important strategic nuclear energy projects in Poland. As part of the move to a low-carbon energy future, we believe in the importance of fostering the wider nuclear energy ecosystem to build knowledge and develop future generations of engineers. Poland is an important hub for Arabelle Solutions and over 20 local companies are already supplying vital parts to the global nuclear industry. We recently signed 40 more agreements to expand our local supply chain as we build on the expertise of Polish companies.
