What could be more inspiring than a winery with great products and sustainable practices? We had some fun and learning early October in the heart of the renowned Wachau wine region, at Domäne Wachau which stands out as a leading Austrian winery, with a commitment to sustainability and authentic marketing approaches. Known for its high-quality Riesling and Grüner Veltliner wines, Domäne Wachau's mission extends beyond wine production. It seeks to preserve the unique terroir for future generations while fostering a close bond with wine enthusiasts. With a focus on ecological responsibility, Domäne Wachau employs a range of methods to minimize its environmental footprint: 🍇 Eco-Friendly Viticulture: Managing over 160 hectares of steep, terraced vineyards, the winery prioritizes soil preservation and the conservation of natural ecosystems by minimizing chemical use and employing traditional, manual cultivation methods. 🍷 Organic & Regenerative Practices: Through organic and regenerative farming, Domäne Wachau improves soil health and natural nutrient retention, ensuring a long-term positive impact on both the vineyards and the environment. 🖼 Supporting Local Ecosystems: The winery enhances biodiversity by providing habitats for birds and pollinators, helping to maintain the ecological balance and reduce artificial intervention needs. #Sustainability #WineMaking #DomäneWachau #Marketing #Biodiversity #AuthenticBranding #Wachau #ESG #ESGEsquire

[LANSON COMMITMENT] In addition to owning a sixteen-hectare vineyard that is farmed biodynamically, Maison Lanson is committed to sustainable viticulture both for its own vineyard and for its supplies by supporting its partner growers in their transition towards certified viticulture through the founding of the first collective structure by a Champagne house, in 2018. In accordance with the requirements defined by the Comité Champagne and the Ministry of Agriculture, which certify the Viticulture Durable en Champagne (Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne – VDC) and Haute Valeur Environnementale (High Environmental Value – HVE) labels, Maison Lanson is forging a path of support based on exchange, sharing and the commitment of each person towards virtuous practices that are mindful of biodiversity and societal and environmental standards. Since 2021, Maison Lanson is a leading light in its commitment to CSR, with key actions in the environmental, social and economic fields, all reflected in a clear vision entitled “Terroirs, People, Wines”. More recently, Maison Lanson joined IWCA - International Wineries for Climate Action, a joint international programme featuring some forty estates in nine countries, the aim of which is to reduce the carbon footprint of the wine industry by sharing best practices and drawing up an international action plan. Maison Lanson is one of the first French estates and the first Champagne house to be part of the program, thereby becoming a leader in sustainable development. This commitment led it to conduct a carbon footprint calculation in 2022 and implement a low-carbon strategy from 2023. 📸 Nicolas DEMOULIN Enjoy Lanson with moderation.

#vino #wine #cambioclimatico #vinosingleses #vinosinglaterra #sommelier #winelover

🌿 Winemaking & The Environment: Striking the Balance 🍇 Winemaking has environmental challenges—water usage, energy consumption, and soil health—but innovative vineyards are stepping up. In the UK, Camel Valley Vineyards is a standout example, reducing its carbon footprint through solar energy and sustainable farming practices that minimise the use of pesticides. Similarly, Chapel Down Group is pioneering water conservation, recycling up to 90% of the water used in their winemaking process. 🌍 Globally, Jackson Family Wines in California is committed to reducing its carbon emissions by half by 2030 through energy-efficient technologies and reforestation efforts. 🌱 In France, Chateau Maris has built the world’s first winery out of hemp bricks, creating a carbon-negative building. These examples prove that winemaking can be both environmentally responsible and innovative. 🍷 With a focus on sustainability, these wineries are not just making better wine—they’re creating a better future for the planet. #SustainableWine #EcoFriendlyWinemaking #EnvironmentalImpact #WineAndNature #GreenVines #InnovativeWineries #CamelValley #ChapelDown #JacksonFamilyWines #ChâteauMaris
