Wanted = Senior Architect Exp = 4 years Job responsibility = A - Z work of the company... Design, Execution, Structural, QC, BOQ etc etc etc... Software skills = AutoCAD, 3DS max, Photoshop, Revit, Sketchup, Rhino, Lion, Tiger, Dinosaur, Blah..blah..blah... Connections....Unfortunately, this is not a job posting from me, But came across a few requirements similar to this. Dear recruiters... Firstly , A 4 year experienced candidate cannot be coined as a Senior Architect, They are still learning the trade and a got a long way ahead in their professional career to be called as such! Secondly, You are looking for an Architect not a visualizer, Expect Design flair, material knowledge, ethics and basis of design and not some random software's since your company is using it! That is a different job role altogether! Lastly but more importantly, balance the work load - A single person cannot handle all the departments of the job - it would be rather exhausting and affect the primary motive. In a nutshell, Kindly set a fair expectation for the role and more importantly give them a healthy mental space to grow and explore! There has been a point in my career where I didn’t have much work to be done. But does that mean, I should settle for less than what I deserve? Respectfully, NO!😇 Success comes to those who believe & have patience. Lowering my standards just to earn is not what I am here for. I want to earn, everyone wants to, but not at the cost of our self worth. I have waited patiently, longer than I anticipated, to receive what I actually deserve. Why am I saying this? . . . I was suggested to work as a draftsman. Doesn’t sound bad, does it? 🙂 Yes, I know Autocad. Yes, I know Sketchup. Yes, I know Revit. Yes, I know XYZ software. But, what I definitely know is: Design sensibility Visualisation Leadership Communication Management Material understanding By-laws Anthropology Etc. And, Passion and Love for my work🫶🏼. There are so many other factors that make us Architects & Designers, based on our unique talents & skills. Drafting is the most important tool to make our designs a Reality. But, one needs to understand the difference. A lot of architects & designers tend to go forward with their technical skills & are very happy with that. Did you know that the modern era already started in ancient Egypt time but this history is considered lost as the tragic conflicts? No, it actually did not. But my project says it did! [Modernator: The Lost Tomb] I present you my final assignments for 2D Design Communication class which obligate us to create a building that has cladding or second skin as its exellence. The outputs of this project are rendered and technical drawings. This project allows us to explore the theme, setting, and function of this building. Instead of only mentioning it, I wrote a storyline based on my wonderful imagination and the process went amusing! Through this class, I gain some abilities to work with architectural applications such as AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and even SketchUp. I hope this ability will be useful for boosting my value on architecture and design occasions.
