Want to reduce your year-end fundraising scramble? 2 things you can do RIGHT NOW: 1️⃣ Bring your donors close. Express gratitude and build connection. 👉 Send thank you cards 👉 Make phone calls 👉 Offer a behind the scenes tour 👉 Host an informal ED roundtable (virtual or in person) 👉 Email a candid video Let donors see ‘first hand’ the impact of their partnership. When this is done well… 2️⃣ Don’t wait to ask. Your year end-appeal will be amazing, I can feel it. ✨ But it can’t replace personal outreach and conversation, especially with your ‘top’ donors. 📅 Plus, most donors have their own giving timelines, which happen to be ALL YEAR LONG. Not just December. So if you have donors at any level who last gave Jan – Oct 2023, why wait until November to reach out? 'Expecting' other big gifts before the end of the year? Make sure you have a plan in place. 💡 I prefer to ask throughout the year with a monthly renewal campaign and strategy (works wonders for retention). What are you doing right now to lighten your load in December?
