Post-pandemic, now, saying is “if you have network, you will get a job”. Ponder upon it for a second and you won’t have to read the entire post. We got through one of the worst pandemics in modern history by how? By hiring Folks for a Different Background, by hiring people with education and arts degrees in GMP manufacturing rooms, by expanding our recruitment to DEI and underprivileged class, “we got through the pandemic by hiring Picasso”. It has been three years post-pandemic, and we (the Homo Sapiens sapiens) are baffled, lost, and worried, why? Because we have hired “People we would love to work with, people that share exactly our experiences, people that we met on the golf course we go to, the people that look like us” Get out of your comfort zone, Hire a Picasso, bring in new ideas, hire a versatile personality that will help you build a dynamic, adaptable workforce that can thrive in the ever-changing landscape. I can teach anyone Microbiology, Next gen sequencing, Cell and gene therapy etc, but only a Picasso can paint something that generations will remember. Hire a versatile candidate because they’re more resilient in the face of uncertainties and setbacks, will help you navigate complex situations with agility and determination. “Hire a Picasso, not your Golf caddie”.
