One laser spec that's not greatly known or talked about, especially for those just entering the laser industry, is divergence and it's importance. However, this is something I do like to bring up when conversing with clients over the phone, especially when comparing lasers on the market. Divergence refers to the angular measurement of a beam's diameter increasing over a longer distance. Meaning, if your divergence reads at higher milliradians (for example 2 mrad), the more the beam will spread over a distance, meaning you lose out on brightness. Compare this to a lower divergence (for example .8 mrad), the tighter your beam will be over a longer distance and the brighter it will appear, especially when compared to a laser of a similar wattage and higher divergence. Our team released a video covering this topic, check it out below! 👇 #lasers #showlaser #technology #lasertechnology #liveevents #lasershow #showproduction
Let’s talk Divergence💥 Did you know divergence plays a major role in your laser’s brightness? The higher the divergence, the more the beam spreads out and loses its brightness over distance. The lower the divergence, the tighter the beam will be and the brighter it will appear over a longer distance. Don't throw your brightness away ‼ #lasers #showlaser #outdoorlight #lightingdesign #lighting #lasershow #productionlife #gadgets #tour

Did You Know that Secretariat not only had a larger heart than the average horse (three times the average size!), but his stride angle was a lot wider than other race horses. The stride angle is the maximum opening between the front and rear legs, usually occurring at push off from the rear foot. Secretariat's stride angle was 110°! Researchers found that for every degree a horse increases the stride angle, he increases the stride length by 2%. This means that if the stride angle is increased just 10°, the horse will cover 20% more ground with each stride!

How does your stadium stand up to the elements? 🤔 Does it rattle in the wind? Can you see daylight through the joints? Rain pour into the space below? Paint system doesn’t stand up to hard use? Or, our personal favorite, showing signs of #corrosion? SPS was invented to withstand the harshest conditions on the planet in the #offshore industry, and it’s been doing that successfully for over 25 years. Choose a system designed to take on the hard stuff. Your fans deserve it. Find out more in the comments below 👇 #sports #sportsnews #sportsvenue #spectatorsports #venue #stadiums #stadiumdesign

New in JTLU: “Exploring factors affecting route choice of cyclists: A novel varying-contiguity spatially lagged exogenous modeling approach” by Nick van Nijen and M. Baran Ulak, University of Twente; Sander Veenstra, Witteveen+Bos; and Karst Geurs, University of Twente. https://lnkd.in/g7AAWCXj A critical element in guiding improvements and expansions to the bicycling network is to understand the route choice of cyclists, which helps identify bottlenecks in bicycle flows and substantiate the need for new bicycle infrastructure. This study developed a model to analyze the likelihood of a cyclist choosing a certain route based not only on the characteristics of that segment but also considering characteristics along a route—such as bicycle facilities, traffic control, bicycle and motorized-vehicle volumes, and different land-use zones. #BicycleNetwork #UrbanPlanning #Bicycling The paper appears in the special issue: Modeling Choice Behavior of Cyclists & Pedestrians in Urban Areas.

On an island where #space is it at a premium, these images should be plastered in front of the eyes of our decision makers. We can complain and grumble all day about #traffic in #malta, but the truth is that our priorities are wrong. Our #transport #infrastructure favours the least space efficient mode. So what can you expect in a country with ever increasing increasing #population and #car ownership levels?

MORE EFFICIENT USE OF SPACE? Anytime you get the chance for a bird’s eye view of traffic, you should take it! Changing perspectives can be helpful to better visualize the systemic injustices in road space distribution. We just give way to much space for cars, and it is a very inefficient use of space. A classic example is the legendary Münster Road space poster https://lnkd.in/d2iC8W4r. The photo I took at Nørreport, Copenhagen, shows what we already know: Cycling is a very space-efficient mode that also allows for mass transportation. Cars? Not so much… 9 🚗 41 🚲
