One of the most memorable moments in my career was when we managed to triple a client's traffic in just 12 months. When we first partnered with them, they hadn’t invested in organic growth. This lack of focus left them trailing behind established competitors and rapidly losing ground to new players. They set us a bold challenge: to double their organic performance within a year. We bloody love a challenge here at Journey Further. Here’s how we did it: 🔧 We tackled and fixed accessibility issues on their site 📝 We rolled out a commercial optimisation plan for their key product listing pages 📣 We launched a relevancy-focused PR campaign ⛔ We resolved cannibalisation issues across crucial categories And the results? 🌟 A 317% boost in visibility 🌟 A 216% increase in organic traffic 🌟104 pieces of coverage secured, with 76 of those linking back to them Yeah, it's cool to get great results, but when clients describe your results as "game-changing", that's what makes your job amazing. 😎

"I Thought My Career Was Over – But It Was Just the Beginning" A year ago, I was ready to leave digital marketing. I worked hard, but after one big project failed, I felt stuck and unsure of myself. I thought, "Maybe I’m just not good enough for this." Instead of giving up, I tried something new: 1️⃣ I reached out to friends and mentors. I told them how I was struggling, and many offered great advice. 2️⃣ I took a course to learn something new I’d always been interested in. 3️⃣ I set small, easy goals and celebrated every little win. After a few months, things started changing. I found projects that suited my strengths, met supportive people, and slowly started enjoying my work again. Today, I’m in a role that fits me perfectly, and I realize that hard times can sometimes lead us to the best things. 👉 If you’re feeling lost, remember—hard times aren’t the end; they’re just part of the journey. Embarking on my journey in the marketing field was both thrilling and challenging. It was a leap of faith that introduced me to a myriad of experiences, but let me share a pivotal moment that tested my resolve. When I was tasked with a major campaign, our team encountered unexpected hurdles: shifting market trends and a tight deadline. Instead of backing down, we huddled together, brainstormed innovative solutions, and pivoted our strategy quickly. This adaptability not only salvaged the project but also led to an unexpectedly powerful outcome—engagement rates soared beyond our initial projections. This experience taught me the importance of teamwork and adaptability in overcoming challenges. It’s about embracing change rather than resisting it. If you’re facing obstacles in your path, remember: the ability to pivot can transform setbacks into stepping stones. Keep pushing forward, stay connected with your team, and be open to new ideas. You've got this! 💪✨

17 years ago, I was just a novice social media manager with a basic understanding of the marketing landscape. Fast forward to today, I am now the Vice President of Global Marketing. Here's what I learned through my journey: Lesson 1: Perseverance pays off In the early days, I made it a habit to stay updated and keep learning. Despite innumerable roadblocks or detours, I identified opportunities and took the initiative. The major difference between then and now is my expanded skillset and experience. Lesson 2: Start small, Dream Big Initially, I only was in charge of social. Now, I lead the marketing communications team, overseeing content, social media, advertising, email, the website, and design, and we've built and executed successful marketing campaigns for San Francisco. While that may seem like a lot, I have a great team, and my number one duty is to be their biggest cheerleader. Lesson 3: Prioritize Long-term Goals In the beginning, I sacrificed leisure and rest to develop my skills or take on projects that were outside of social media. Many probably considered it absurd. But, 14 years later at San Francisco Travel, I've achieved a leadership role, and now I am helping others figure out their path. Lesson 4: Embrace your Weaknesses (and know you aren't always right) I used to be insecure about my lack of experience in people management. I feared I wouldn't succeed because of it. It took me time to understand that these insecurities only hindered my progress. And that I needed to lean into discomfort, the unknown, to really see growth in developing my skills and my team. Lesson 5: Chart your own Path Post-graduation, many people typically settle for a safe job. However, I chose a different path with social media, and it made a difference. Remember, the road less traveled often leads to the greatest successes. Have you encountered similar lessons on your career path?

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒂𝒕𝒆-𝑵𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝑮𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒅: 𝑴𝒚 𝑱𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝑺𝒖𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔 I still remember the countless nights spent huddled over my laptop, fueled by coffee and determination. As a social media manager and marketer, I was driven to grow and learn. The clock would strike 10, 11, 12... and I'd still be going strong, strategizing, creating, and executing. My friends would ask, "Why so much effort?" My response: "Because success never comes overnight." There were times I doubted myself, felt like giving up. But every small win, every engagement, every conversion kept me going. One particularly tough night stands out. I had to launch a campaign within 24 hours. I worked tirelessly, refining every detail. And when it went live... the results exceeded expectations! That moment validated all the late nights, early mornings, and endless cups of coffee. It reminded me that every sacrifice, every hour invested, brings me closer to my goals. If you're on a similar journey, don't lose faith. Keep pushing, learning, and creating. Your hard work will pay off. Let's connect and share our experiences! #SocialMediaMarketing #MarketingLife #SuccessStory #growithsumyya #HardWorkPaysOff"

The Story of a Missed Opportunity I still remember the day I hesitated to pitch my idea to a potential client. I had all the right solutions, but I let fear hold me back. I didn't fight for what I wanted - the chance to showcase my skills and grow my business. Later, I watched as someone else swooped in and snatched the opportunity. I was left with regrets, wondering what could have been. That's when I learned the hard way: "IF YOU DON'T FIGHT FOR WHAT YOU WANT, DON'T CRY FOR WHAT YOU LOST." As digital marketers, we face countless opportunities every day. Will we seize them with confidence and determination, or let them slip away? Let's choose to fight for our goals, our ideas, and our dreams. Don't cry for what you lost, fight for what you want! #digitalmarketing #ecommerce_expert #Ads_stratigies

☕ Taking a Thursday breather....and a moment to recharge. As a Senior Marketing Manager, I've spent years developing campaigns, leading teams, generating leads, and analysing data. Not one for sitting in an unchallenging comfort zone, I find that the best insights and Eureka moments come when I change the pace, or switch things up a little. Viewing an issue from a different perspective, and trying different approaches. This is especially important for marketers, where stasis rarely achieves anything worthwhile. Right now, I'm on the lookout for my next marketing role, and I'm taking the opportunity to really think about what drives me. What kind of projects spark joy? Which companies share my values? This cappuccino moment is a reminder that finding the right fit is just as important as the destination. If you come across any opportunities where strategic thinking, creative storytelling, years of marcomms and B2B commercial experience, ability to generate leads quickly, and a collaborative mindset are valued, let’s connect. Until then, here's to a little coffee and a lot of inspiration. #MarketingLife #JobSearchJourney #SeniorMarketingManager #NewOpportunities #LinkedInNetwork #CoffeeAndConversations #ThursdayThoughts #YorkMarketer
