Every year, the Parliament of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles awards in the field of visual arts, alternaly to various disciplines. 2024 gave a pride of place to design for its Yound Artists Award which was awarded to textile studio Maak & Transmettre 👏⁠ ⁠ The five studios shortlisted by the Prix 2024 jury are distinguished by their highly varied practices. However, they all share a marked interest in original working processes that set each of their creations apart. ⁠ ⁠ Embracing the various fields of application of design, from industrial design to more craft-based production, including ceramics and textiles. As the month started, our Managing Partner, Andreas Diefenbach, served as a juror for the Rat für Formgebung - German Design Council Awards 2025, where he brought his passion for meaningful innovation to the table. Reflecting on his time with the jury, Andreas highlighted the importance of going beyond surface-level changes and focusing on transformative design solutions that make a real impact. Designer in der Falle? Zerstören Algorithmen echte Kreativität?! Industriedesign wird zunehmend von sozialen Medien beeinflusst, und dieser Wandel bringt von außen betrachtet große Veränderungen mit sich. Als Designer sollte man sich dessen auf jeden Fall bewusst sein! In normalen Worten: Speichert man sich Dinge ab, die gut gefallen, werden natürlich weiter Ähnliche angezeigt. So wird ein Schneeballeffekt ausgelöst, der dann die Arbeit unterbewusst inspirieren könnte und im schlimmsten Fall den Designer so beeinflusst, dass sich diese Arbeiten in den Seinen wiederfinden und dann wiederum den Trend und andere Designer weiter beeinflussen...
