Young businesses succeed in international markets through trial and error – success does not always have to be based on careful planning, goal setting or large resources. As the growth of large companies fades and there are not enough successful medium-sized companies in Finland, attention is turning to young Finnish companies that are looking to international markets for growth from the start. However, the challenge of internationalisation for these companies is their newness, small size, and unfamiliarity with international markets. Overcoming these challenges has usually required considerable resources and skills that young companies lack. – Creating new markets, collaborative marketing programmes with partners and building an emotional connection with customers in international markets proved to be particularly important, says Peter Gabrielsson, Professor of International Marketing. ➡ Read more: https://lnkd.in/dQ7X9PZw #univaasa #business #companies #international #marketing #research

Doing business in Poland can be an attractive prospect, given its strategic location in Europe and a growing economy. However, several challenges may arise for entrepreneurs and companies looking to establish themselves in the market. One significant challenge is the regulatory environment. While Poland has made strides in simplifying business processes, navigating the legal landscape can still be complex. Companies often face bureaucratic hurdles, including extensive documentation and compliance requirements. This can be particularly daunting for foreign investors unfamiliar with local laws and regulations. Another challenge is the labor market. While Poland boasts a skilled workforce, the demand for talent, particularly in sectors like IT and engineering, often exceeds supply. Companies may struggle to attract and retain qualified employees, leading to increased recruitment costs and potential delays in project execution. Cultural differences can also pose challenges. Understanding local customs and business etiquette is crucial for building strong relationships with partners and clients. Miscommunications stemming from cultural misunderstandings can hinder negotiations and affect overall business operations. Additionally, economic fluctuations and geopolitical factors can impact business stability. Poland's economy is influenced by broader European Union dynamics, and any shifts in trade policies or economic conditions can create uncertainty for businesses operating in the region. Lastly, competition is fierce, especially in urban centers. As more international companies enter the market, businesses must continuously innovate and differentiate themselves to capture market share. This requires not only financial investment but also a deep understanding of local consumer preferences and behaviors. In conclusion, while Poland offers numerous opportunities for business growth, potential investors and entrepreneurs must be prepared to navigate regulatory complexities, labor market challenges, cultural nuances, economic fluctuations, and competitive pressures to succeed in this vibrant market. #poland #doingbusiness #challenges #assistance #help #growth #expansion #eumarket #inorporation #newbusiness #expat #foreigninvestment #investment #businessgrowth #moveyourbusiness

🌍 In recent years, Finnish companies have increasingly set their sights on the United States. This shift is evident in my own work, as brand protection measures in the U.S. have risen, while, for example, trademark applications in China have significantly decreased since the "boom years." Now, most experts predict that a new term for Donald Trump will bring tougher times for Finnish businesses in the U.S. market. Once again, the question arises: where can Finnish companies find alternative markets to the U.S. and the struggling economies of the EU and China? 🌏 The answer is simple yet rarely highlighted in Finnish media and discussions: Southeast Asia. The region has over 600 million people and boasts rapid economic growth with political stability. Political barriers to trade perhaps exist only in two smaller countries, Myanmar and Laos. Other Southeast Asian countries—particularly the more developed and/or larger markets like #indonesia, #vietnam, #thailand, #malaysia, #philippines, and #singapore are highly promising for Finnish companies. There’s growing demand for various #consumergoods, #greentechnology and #constructiontechnology, #education, and #digitalsolutions, just a few to mention. 📉 Yet, many Finnish companies in this sectors still don’t fully understand or dare to explore this market seriously. Unsurprisingly, companies from other Nordic countries have established a much stronger foothold in the region over the years. Yesterday, Finland-Southeast Asia Business Association hosted a hybrid event on 🇲🇾 Malaysia’s business and investment opportunities. Companies like Peikko Group Corporation and Sandvik shared their success stories in Malaysia. We also heard insightful presentations from Business Finland and Malaysian Investment Development Authority on business opportunities, along with how the Embassy of Finland in Kuala Lumpur and the Embassy of Malaysia in Helsinki can support companies entering the Malaysian market. 🙏 Thank you to all the speakers for their insights! anne vasara Ariff Ali Khairul Azhar Amil Hamzah Mohamed Farid Mohamed Razali Jake Väätäjä VO Kataja
