From starting out on the tools as a driller, to leading the team as a HDD Supervisor to becoming our Metro Operations Manager - it’s been a privilege to watch his journey and growth.
Eston is an all-around great guy, and we’re so lucky to have him as part of the Boretech family.

At A.R.K. Ramos, we lead by example. Instead of stepping back, we make it a priority to be involved in the day-to-day operations of our company. Leading in this way not only allows us to offer assistance, feedback, and problem-solving, but also ensures our team operates as ONE unit.
Think of it like a captain on a ship. Instead of standing at the helm and giving orders from afar, we’re right there on deck with our crew—adjusting the sails, steering through rough waters, and making sure everyone has the tools and support they need to keep the ship moving smoothly. By leading this way, we ensure that our team doesn’t just operate like individual parts of a machine but as a unified crew, working together with the same goals, vision, and drive for excellence.
This hands-on approach creates a culture of collaboration where the entire team feels unified, empowered, and motivated to contribute the best service and craftsmanship.

The 5 Dysfunctions of a Team
No. 1: Trust
Have you ever watched a pitstop crew at work? The 2023 record time is 1.8 seconds.
Can you comprehend? 1.8 SECONDS! You wouldn’t be even able to utter the word pitstop during this time.
If you watch the video, you will need to rewatch in slow motion to understand the harmony of motion between the pitstop crew members. Everyone understands their role and the role of others and they trust each other to get the job done in record time.
Trust is not easy, it takes a lot of effort and work to have, but once you do, you can accomplish all what you desire. It’s the first building block for a successful and harmonious team.

Note: the 5 Dysfunctions are based on Patrick Lencioni Model.

Uplifting one another to SOAR should be a goal for many more of us who are in a position to provide lift!
Last year, I was asked by a classmate Ramon Ware, MBA to speak to his rotary club about the work I do in literacy. Upon my return to Los Gatos this spring to perform the welcome to the volunteers at the Kiwanis Special Games, XLIV, I was able to connect with Ramon again. During this visit, he shared that he just wrote his book, Soar to Leadership Success - Lead Your Team Like An Aviator.
I understand how much commitment and dedication it takes to write a book not along to be persistent to have it published. Furthermore, I didn't want him to give me a copy, I wanted to show my support by buying it. So, I bought my copy that day and the next week I received my coveted signed copy.
On my last flight to Asia, I pulled the book out and read it cover to cover. Being a pilot, it was interesting to see how he was able to weave the basic flight principals of Thrust, Drag, Lift, Weight, and one I didn't truly consider, Environment, into leadership principals in the business world.
Nice job my friend. Continue to SOAR!

In the early 20th century, Ernest Shackleton led an expedition to Antarctica that became one of the greatest survival stories in history. When his ship, the Endurance, was trapped and eventually crushed by ice, Shackleton and his crew were stranded in one of the most inhospitable places on earth.
Despite the dire circumstances, Shackleton exhibited extraordinary leadership qualities that ensured the survival of his entire crew. He maintained morale, made strategic decisions, and led by example, showing resilience, adaptability, and unwavering commitment to his team's well-being.
In today's challenging economic climate, where companies face unprecedented slowdowns and closures, Shackleton's leadership provides timeless lessons. Here are a few key takeaways:
Resilience: Shackleton never gave up, even when the situation seemed hopeless. Leaders today must remain resilient, encouraging their teams to stay focused and motivated.
Adaptability: Shackleton constantly adapted his plans as circumstances changed. In our fast-paced world, flexibility and the ability to pivot quickly are essential for overcoming obstacles.
Empathy and Communication: Shackleton understood the importance of clear communication and empathy. He kept his crew informed and addressed their fears, fostering a sense of unity and trust. Modern leaders should prioritize transparent communication and show genuine concern for their teams' well-being.
Leading by Example: Shackleton led from the front, sharing the hardships and demonstrating the behaviors he expected from his crew. Today's leaders must also lead by example, inspiring confidence and dedication through their actions.
As we navigate through these turbulent times, let's draw inspiration from Shackleton's extraordinary leadership. By embodying resilience, adaptability, empathy, and leading by example, we can guide our teams through adversity and emerge stronger on the other side.
