💡 A Legacy of Lifelong Learning at Bosch 📚 Over 100 years ago, Robert Bosch recognized that lifelong learning is essential for permanent success. What it is like to study Business Administration at Henkel Yesterday I listened to a keynote presentation delivered by Céline Flores Willers who suggested that on LinkedIn, you need to be authentic. Therefore, I want to illustrate 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁. • I attend the 𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 at University during the week. And afterwards I go through the presentations again in preparation for exams. • Additionally, my group of dual students at Henkel receives 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 and I currently participate in a project at Henkel, which requires meeting with my project group regularly. • Last week I 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗽𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 via Teams. • On top of that, I sometimes attend 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 that are open to all Henkel employees. Although these, I choose carefully. In a company as big as Henkel, there are so many opportunities to learn, grow and get updated on special projects. I need to select since I cannot attend all. How do I live between all these Learning Sessions and English lessons? Weekends are for me. 😌 • I 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗹𝘆 throughout the week in order to spend the weekend with my family and friends. I do not see my friends as often as I used to, but we value our friendship by taking time to see each other whenever possible. 🫶🏻 • My University schedule allows 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. Since I can attend lectures both in person and online at different times, I move the lectures around if necessary. In the past eight months as a dual student I have learned that I need to 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 and be flexible. Have you ever studied in a dual curriculum or part-time? How did you manage to find a balance between working, studying and living? #wearehenkel #daretomakeanimpact

Leaving BASF was the hardest decision of my career. Here's why: It meant stepping away from a globally recognized company, incredible colleagues, exciting career opportunities and 11 years full of fun with a great team. At that time, I asked myself: What truly matters most? The answer was somehow clear (#BestGrandfather), but back then, without kids, I could not fully grasp the necessary compromises and sacrifices. Luckily, joining meinemarkenmode.de was a super exciting opportunity, which finally tipped the scale. Senior management roles at BASF typically came with geographic commitments, frequent relocations, and a lot of time away from loved ones. My partner and I both have full-time careers, and balancing career ambitions with family life is one of our challenges. We could not envision managing two corporate leadership roles while building the family life we truly wanted. Markus Kamieth I remember our dialogue and your perspective on geographic flexibility within BASF at the time. What is your take 8 years later and how do you balance BASF's demand for flexible top level management with their family commitments? How have all of you navigated career decisions to prioritize your family? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

THE BEGINNING OF A NEW JOURNEY 🌻 Last Sunday’s graduation ceremony was, without a doubt, one of the most emotional and fulfilling moments I’ve had in the past two years. It was the culmination of all the dedication, long late nights, and hard work I’ve poured into this journey, overcoming one challenge after another. Looking back, I’m proud of the commitment it took to get here, those countless hours spent on classes, assignments, presentations and exams. 🌻 The MBA-MCI program itself made the journey so rewarding. It’s a program like no other, focusing on consulting with pragmatic examples and a hands-on approach. We learned not only from textbooks but from lecturers who’ve been in the field for years, working with firms like McKinsey and BCG. Their insights, combined with an engaging teaching style, made every lesson come to life. What’s more, working alongside classmates from different backgrounds brought fresh perspectives to every group project and class discussion. Learning from each other’s experiences across industries kept things interesting and broadened my view on business. And it wasn’t just theory, we went on company visits, connected with industry professionals, and bridged that gap between the classroom and the real world. Before starting this MBA, concepts like 'Change Management' and techniques like 'Business Process Engineering' were unfamiliar to me. 🌻 As the saying goes, 'We don’t know what we don’t know,' and that couldn’t have been more accurate on this journey. I’m leaving with more than just knowledge: I have grown and developed a new way of thinking. This journey has been a long climb, and I’m hopeful it’s only the beginning of something even greater! As an MBA student , I find inspiration in the story behind Coca-Cola’s iconic contour bottle—a design brief that challenged conventional thinking in 1915 by asking for a bottle so distinct it could be recognized by touch, even in the dark or broken on the ground. This level of bold innovation and attention to detail carries essential lessons for anyone looking to create a lasting impact in their field. Key Takeaways for Branding and Design: 1.Originality Fuels Differentiation: With competitors mimicking Coca-Cola's logo and name, the company chose to stand out through design. This reinforces the idea that in today’s crowded market, being uniquely yourself is what sets you apart from imitators 2.Function Meets Aesthetic: The contour bottle wasn’t just about looking good—it was designed to be functional, making it instantly recognizable by touch. A balanced approach between form and function ensures that your design doesn’t just catch attention but also adds value. 3. Build a Timeless Legacy: More than 100 years later, the bottle’s shape remains relevant and recognizable across the globe. As MBA students, we can learn to focus on creating solutions and brands that offer long-term value, rather than chasing fleeting trends 4.Consistency is Key: Over time, the Coca-Cola bottle became synonymous with the brand, proving that consistent design and messaging are critical in building lasting customer recognition . These lessons resonate beyond product design. Whether you're working on business strategies, marketing, or building a personal brand, striving for originality, functionality, timelessness, and consistency is essential for long-term success. As an MBA student, I’m inspired to incorporate these principles into my work, creating value that lasts. #Branding #Innovation #MBA #CocaCola #Design #Leadership #BusinessStrategy #TimelessDesign #Originality

Happy Manufacturing Month! As I was driving home from work last night, I began thinking more about how October is Manufacturing Month. First of all, what exactly is Manufacturing Month? Well, "It's a month to recognize the success of the US manufacturing industry and to promote careers and education." So says my good friend, and always-faithful resource, Google. 🙂 So...as I thought further on this, I had an Ah ha moment. It occurred to me how there are people in many different walks of life who may not know that October is Manufacturing Month. In fact, you might even find many in our 4-year universities who do not know this (No offense, I am proud to say that I have a bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year university). Now enter the Wisconsin Technical College System. You would probably be hard pressed to find even one employee of this wonderful system, who does not know of the significance of this month. Why is that? From the end of one October to the beginning of the next, there are events, activities, and workshops being planned, in an effort to raise awareness of the importance and significance of manufacturing. Now, why would we do that? In short, without manufacturing, the tech colleges really do not exist. This whole system of combining hands-on learning and classroom education, was created to meet the needs in manufacturing and industry. This is why students seek us out. And this why manufacturers trust us to train and develop our students in such a way that matches their training and industry needs.
