On the left, we have the Raffles Hotel in the mid-1920s, and here it is today - standing majestically! Quick question: What do Somerset Maugham, Elizabeth Taylor, Rudyard Kipling, and an escaped circus tiger all have in common? At one point, they have all graced their presence at this fine establishment. I won't go into detail about the escaped tiger, but legend has it that Rudyard Kipling penned The Jungle Book within these very walls. Since its opening in 1887, this hotel has been a place to stay where stories are born and told. Preservation and spirit has kept Raffles alive and relevant for almost 150 years. And you all know how much I love legacy. I mean, it's hard to be in private banking without an appreciation of continuous growth and longevity! It certainly helps ensure the financial legacies of our clients are managed with attention to detail and commitment to timeless value. If you're intrigued by how historical lessons can inform modern investment strategies, let's connect and discuss how to build and preserve your financial legacy.

I remember attending a national real estate investing conference a while back, and it felt like one of those "is it worth it?" moments. Travel to conferences can be expensive and also take up two extra days on each end of a trip. But one reason I decided to give it a shot was because of the amazing keynote speakers. One in particular, was Will Guidara, founder of a restaurant called Eleven Madison Park in New York city. Long story short, he was able to take his restaurant from 50th in the world, to number 1. And it wasn't because of the food or ambiance. It was because of something called, "unreasonable hospitality." And what he defined that as, is that when you have any interaction with your customers, your employees, or your clients, be unreasonable with your level of service and your hospitality. This is something I now take into my every day interactions with my business. In fact, his book, "Unreasonable Hospitality," is an incredible resource if you want to dive a little deeper into what a game changer it can be to give people more than they expect: https://loom.ly/B_5MMl0 So next time you have an interaction, I encourage you to think about this... How can we have unreasonable hospitality in our businesses as it relates to real estate? #UnreasonableHospitality #RealEstateInvesting #RealEstateConference

This year, the Hunter Hotel Investment Conference proved to be not just a meeting place for leaders of the hospitality industry but also a platform for the exchange of opinions and strategies that will shape the future of this sector. Among the esteemed participants was our CEO, Dan, whose presence underscored our commitment to growth and development in hospitality. At the conference, Dan Coroiu not only became better acquainted with the latest trends and innovations of the industry but also took an active part in discussions about the future of hotel business and investments. This was an opportunity not only to present Hospitality Finishes in the best light but also to strengthen ties with colleagues, partners, and potential clients. The importance of personal participation in such events cannot be overstated. It's about more than just the exchange of knowledge; it's about creating long-term relationships that foster synergy and joint growth. We believe that through interaction and the exchange of experience, we can build a more sustainable and innovative future for the entire hospitality industry. This experience has reinforced our belief that to continue our development, it is vital not only to keep up with trends but also to actively participate in shaping the future of the industry. We are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this significant event and look forward to new opportunities for growth and collaboration. Thank you to everyone who makes these moments possible. Together, we are moving forward to new heights in the world of hospitality.#HunterHotelConference #HospitalityLeaders #IndustryInnovation #BusinessGrowth #NetworkingSuccess #HotelInvestment #FutureOfHospitality #HospitalityTrends #StrategicPartnerships #HospitalityDevelopment #LeadershipInHospitality #SustainableHospitality #HospitalityFinishesCommunity

48 Years of Entrepreneurial Wisdom: Lessons from a 5* superior hotel CEO. I had the privilege of attending a mastermind at one of Austria's best hotels. On the third day, we had a special guest: Josef Stock, the founder of Hotel Stock. From a small restaurant, he built it into a 5-star superior hotel over 48 years. Here are some invaluable lessons he shared: - Listen to your customers – Build your services around their needs. - Never leave a negotiation on bad terms – You'll likely meet again. (He mentioned the challenges of buying land from Austrian farmers!) - Be a role model – Lead by example. Your behavior sets the tone for your team. - Hospitality comes from the heart – It’s not something you can fake. - Don’t rely on external sales advisors – Maintain business control. - Embrace risky investments – Often, fear points toward where we need to go. Josef’s humility and wisdom left a lasting impression. Thanks to Philip Semmelroth I Dipl. Kfm. I MBA (USA) for organizing and hosting us!

"Destination markets like Pike Place attract local residents and tourists alike because of how interesting and vibrant they are; with tons of things to see, do and buy at every turn and something to offer everyone who visits. It follows that building networks of such markets across cities and regions both maintains local market cultures, strengthens communities, and preserves a way of life that people love to be part of." Our decades of collaboration with Pike Place Market PDA has led to many lessons learned for #publicmarkets around the world and helped us launch the markets movement around the world while we were at Project for Public Spaces. PPS now continues to sustain and grow the #MarketCities movement through their #MarketCitiesNetwork.
