Yes. Yes. I have become slightly obsessed with the NFL post Taylor & Kelce (but I am not the only one). However, working in Indian Sport for the last 15 years (Yes, and do not age me!) has exposed me to the Business side of the NFL. Sports Newsletters and American Websites have provided more and a lot more insight about the NFL - and it has been a fascinating learning experience that has been so awe inspiring. I want to know more and I want to see more because they are doing it so so well. This is just one of the examples of what they are getting right - building a platform to give their athletes a future to look forward to with dignity and respect. The professional athlete brings a lot to the boardroom table! What else could you expect from a Human Being who chases one goal constantly for years! They have built themselves to be focused, disciplined and so so resilient and they would be the perfect team player! Spaces for this are so essential for the Indian Athlete as well and I wish we could find a way to give them more than a 'coaches' job, or the 'Railways posting'. So much to learn and so much to think about what we can do and should be doing. Sport is collaborative and competitive - which is why it makes it so easy to want to learn from each other. (Also, welcome to the Chief's Kingdom. :))
Last Friday, the NFL Player Care Foundation (PCF) celebrated Super Bowl LVIII by hosting their 6th Annual Super Bowl Career Fair – providing NFL Legends with the opportunity to explore careers with 40 employers, update their professional headshots, and experience executive-led career panels from Visa, EA SPORTS, Fanatics, and Microsoft.

I've been getting a lot of questions about the event we're putting on, so I wanted to answer some of the most common ones: ✨ Is this a job fair? Technically, no. This event is a conversational roundtable featuring young people and professionals alongside employers and leaders. It's a chance to share perspectives about each other and discuss how we can overcome generational obstacles as a community. ✨ This event is FREE! Originally, we considered a fee to cover costs, but I wanted to be fair and absorb the cost as an investment. ✨ This is NOT confrontational. This isn't about hearsay. We'll be using statistics and key indicators observed within our community to facilitate discussion. ✨ Who's participating? We'll have students from high schools and colleges across the Springfield-Branson metro area. This includes international students, Springfield-Branson natives, and those planning to leave or enter the workforce. ✨ The goal? To share perspectives and find common ground.

Employer’s Choice: More than a slogan In the month of October … Approximately 400 employers on campus throughout the month giving feedback on the curriculum for almost 40 technical programs. Twenty-some employers presenting to students during Employer Lunch & Learns. And closing out the month with close to 40 employers for the Commercial Turf and Grounds career fair. That doesn’t even account for employer tours and classroom presentations that I am not even aware of that are happening on campus. Did I mention the annual career expo registration opens the end of this month? 400 employers participated last year and there is a list of over a 100 new employers eager to participate in the 2025 Career Expo on February 11 & 12. It’s not just a slogan. State Technical College of Missouri is the Employers Choice. And you can be a part of this experience … bring your son, your daughter, your nephew, your niece, your grandson, your granddaughter, etc to our Open House on Saturday October 5. Enjoy some State Tech hospitality. https://statetechmo.edu We are ready to roll into October!

Giving students the opportunity to excel! Practice makes perfect... correction, perfect practice makes perfect! Here at Kansas State University Salina we ensure our students have the opportunity to learn by doing! Here is another wonderful example... #aviation #aviationcollege #flightschool #airlines
We welcomed a small pool of employers to offer an excellent opportunity for a virtual Pitch Night with our professional pilot students! Students heard about each organization and were "pitched" jobs and other pathway opportunities. The event also included breakout rooms where employers invited attendees to ask questions and gain additional skills and knowledge about available opportunities. Employer Pitch Nights, hosted by the campus Career Services, allow our students to have another chance to network and build off of prior conversations they had with employers at our Job Fair last month! #KStateSalina | #ExperienceMatters | #FlyKState

You're not going to want to miss our September Career Fair at Vancouver Island University! Employers and recruiters - we have just opened up employer table registration for our next large-scale Vancouver Island University Career Fair, taking place on September 13, 2024! This event takes place at the start of the new school year, when many students will be looking for employment, career, internship, and volunteer opportunities. This will be a great opportunity to promote any employment or internship opportunities with your organization to new students or soon to be graduating students looking for their career post academia. Our previous career fair in September 2023 was a great success, drawing in over 650 VIU students and alumni from various programs during a 4-hour period. This event provided an excellent platform for over 60 different employers to connect with a diverse and talented pool of candidates. The fair not only offered meaningful networking opportunities but also received an employer satisfaction rating of 87%. In a post-event survey, 31 respondents (half of the employers that were in attendance) anticipated to hire 40-68+ students as a result of this event. To ensure that our department is able to continue organizing events of this magnitude, and to be able to continue providing the best level of career services that we can to VIU students and our employer partners, we will be charging $100+fees/table for this upcoming career fair. In addition to being open to VIU students and alumni from all programs, members of the general public will have access to attend, to ensure that our employer partners have the opportunity to connect with as many potential candidates as possible, and that your organizations are more than satisfied with the success of this event. We only have 75 employer tables available for this 3-hour event, and I am anticipating these spots to fill-up quickly (we have already thirteen tables sell since email invites were sent), so please let me know if your organization is interested in participating and I will send you an Eventbrite link! (I am also organizing several other events in the next two months which will allow employers seeking to connect with specific student groups about internship and volunteer opportunities to do so - please let me know if you would be interested in any such event as well!)
On September 13, from 11 am to 2 pm, there will be a Career Fair taking place in the VIU Gymnasium that is open to alumni and students from all Vancouver Island University programs and members of the public! Students, alumni and public members will be able to connect with over 70 different employers, such as: - BC Parks - Grant Thornton LLP (Canada) - Kinetic - Loaves & Fishes Community Food Bank Office and Warehouse - Marriott International - McElhanney - MNP - Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce - NPower Canada - Smythe LLP - and many more! VIU students, alumni, and faculty and public members can register for this event via the following link: https://lnkd.in/gyJyvmuv This event is organized by the VIU Career Studio, in partnership with the VIU Alumni Association.
