As many of us prepare to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with our families and friends I'm filled with gratitude. The challenges I face help me grow in grace and with mercy. The victories I celebrate are a reminder of the abundance of good in the world. Gratitude changes everything. I hope you are giving thanks for all of the opportunities you have received and for all of the opportunities forthcoming, whether they are opportunities for growth or opportunities to celebrate victory. I am wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving and may both your heart and your plate be abundantly filled!

It’s one thing to be grateful. It’s another thing to give thanks. Gratitude is what you feel. Thanksgiving is what you do. - Tim Keller This highlights a powerful distinction between internal emotions and external actions. Gratitude is an internal state of recognition a feeling of thankfulness for the good in our lives. It’s reflective and personal. Thanksgiving is the outward expression of that gratitude. It’s what we do to demonstrate our appreciation, whether through words, actions, or gestures. Gratitude is important but it is incomplete without action. To truly honor the blessings we receive, we must not only feel thankful but also express it in tangible ways. Thanksgiving serves as an annual reminder to live out our gratitude, reinforcing that true thankfulness is demonstrated through meaningful action whether by strengthening relationships or serving others. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 everyone.

Thanksgiving is a holiday rooted in gratitude and togetherness. Its meaning varies by culture and personal experience, but it generally centers on: 1. Gratitude: Reflecting on and giving thanks for the blessings in life, such as family, friends, health, and abundance. 2. Community and Family: Gathering with loved ones to share a meal and strengthen relationships. 3. Historical Significance: In the United States, Thanksgiving commemorates the 1621 harvest feast shared by the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag people, symbolizing cooperation and gratitude. 4. Reflection and Generosity: For many, it’s also a time to help others in need, express kindness, and reflect on the values of sharing and compassion. While the traditions—like enjoying turkey dinners, watching parades, or cheering for football—may vary, the underlying spirit of gratitude and unity defines Thanksgiving for most people.

How was your Thanksgiving? Amid the food, family, and traditions, it’s easy to feel gratitude on a day dedicated to it. But here’s the thing—gratitude doesn’t have to be reserved for holidays or special moments. What if we looked for reasons to be thankful in the ordinary—the cup of coffee, a kind word, or even a lesson learned from a challenge? Gratitude isn’t just a feeling; it’s a practice. And like any practice, the more we engage with it, the more it shapes our perspective and, ultimately, our lives. So, as the holiday glow fades, let’s keep choosing gratitude daily. What’s one small thing you’re thankful for today?

If you live in or are from the US, then you know tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Over the years, I've grown more and more conflicted when it comes to celebrating this holiday. When I reflected on why, I realized there is much about the origins of the holiday that I don't know or understand. "Native American spirituality, traditionally and today, emphasizes gratitude for creation, care for the environment, and recognition of the human need for communion with nature and others. Thanksgiving as a holiday originates from the Native American philosophy of giving without expecting anything in return." [source: https://lnkd.in/gmmYyryt] While its history is complex and still grossly misrepresented, I learned that Thanksgiving can still be a celebration of gratitude and come as a welcome reminder to practice gratitude. Even when times are challenging (and oh are they challenging right now 😰), at some scale (no matter how small), there is something to be grateful for. Moreover, gratitude and grievances can coexist without diminishing one another. And, if you're up for a side quest of your own, this article has some fantastic information about gratitude, its practice and why it's so important: https://lnkd.in/gbMZb-6x

Gratitude is the key 🔑 So lucky to know you Abigail Somma! Folks, read below if you’re interested in participating in this wonderful (and cost free) Thanksgiving gratitude practice!
This is my 3rd Thanksgiving matching Gratitude Buddies. It always excites me to pair two random people together - in this setting - and see what kind of alchemy there is. Sometimes it evolves; oftentimes Buddies cross paths only for a brief time. But that's part of the fun. We never actually know; there's something lovely to gain and not much of a price to pay. At the very least, you've counted some blessings... and just maybe you'll receive someone's beautifully poetic description of lettuce and never look at it the same way again. This year we're doing things a little differently. Buddies will be matched: 👍 only for 3-Days 👍 anonymously 👍 from anywhere in the world - you don't have to celebrate Thanksgiving. On the 3rd day, if BOTH Buddies decide to share info - you can find out who you Buddy is. This is a small - and free - way to add some fun and spontaneity to our holiday. If you want to find out more? Then visit here and watch my video. https://lnkd.in/dyJuq3tZ *And here's me talking shop, with my real-life gratitude and business buddy Evelyne Faye
