The proposed new AFIC pathway comes with submission requirements from the FDA that are similar to that of a GRAS or FAP, such as: 1. Detailed manufacturing and batch analysis information 2. The ingredients’ purpose with supporting data 3. A safety assessment, including target animal safety and human food safety if applicable 4. A statement of environmental risk 5. Copies of cited literature & reports To learn more about how this new regulatory pathway could affect the way you navigate the process for your animal food / feed ingredient, explore our blog linked below. ➡️ https://hubs.la/Q02NCJS50 - #AAFCO #AFIC #GRAS #RegulatoryStrategy #IngredientDefinitions #IngredientDefinitionsProcess #PetFood #AnimalFeed

Chick-fil-A is one of the biggest fast-food chain restaurants, and with this, they must make improvements to the quality and standards of their food for their customers. This is one of Chick-fil-A's biggest goals and they recently updated a commitment to their customers that once stated Chick-fil-A uses the NAE approach, which means no antibiotics ever, and has transitioned to a no antibiotics important to human medicine approach. This new approach restricts antibiotics crucial to human medicine, which allows for animal antibiotics to only be used in cases of illness. Chick-fil-A wants to emphasize its dedication to producing high-quality chicken while also maintaining high animal well-being standards. To do this, Chick-fil-A emphasized a connection with an animal well-being council of external experts to provide their company with feedback on policies and practices. Within the near future, Chick-fil-A sets to sell antibiotic-free chicken and eventually source only cage-free eggs. Also, there has been an uprising issue with an increase in outbreaks of bird flu in the United States. This has caused the supply of chicken to decrease, which led to price increases, but as of now, Chick-fil-A has not made a statement addressing this issue. #SPRING2023SCLT4375 José Manuel Velarde CSCP, CPIM, CPSM, CPSD Margaret A.
