Lactose Broth is used for the cultivation of Salmonella and coliform bacteria from food, dairy, and water products in a laboratory setting. Lactose Broth is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans. Lactose Broth is frequently used as a pre-enrichment medium when testing foods and dairy products for Salmonella spp. In dried or processed foods, Salmonella species may be sub-lethally injured and in low numbers. Lactose Broth is widely used and is included in many procedures for testing foods, dairy products and other materials. Lactose Broth is also used for the detection of coliform organisms in water, dairy products, and other materials. #AMR_Bacteria like those in E. coli are strains that have developed resistance to antimicrobial agents commonly used in food production, such as antibiotics. These bacteria can survive and multiply in various environments, including cold storage conditions. Therefore, it's crucial to follow proper food safety practices, such as storing meat at appropriate temperatures, avoiding cross-contamination, and cooking meat thoroughly to kill any harmful bacteria, including those that may be antimicrobial-resistant. #LetsFightAMR

Alarming Levels of Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria Found in Raw Meat Sold in the UK New #research has found alarmingly high levels of #antibiotic-resistant #bacteria in #raw #meat sold for human consumption and for pet food in the #UK. Scientists tested samples of uncooked #beef, #chicken, #lamb and #pork meant for people to cook before eating, as well as raw chicken meant to be fed to #dogs. They found that nearly all the chicken samples contained E. coli bacteria that were resistant to multiple critically important antibiotics used to treat serious infections in humans. High rates of antibiotic #resistance were also seen in the lamb, pork and beef samples. The raw chicken pet food had similar high levels of drug-resistant E. coli as the chicken for human consumption. This is concerning because #pets that eat contaminated raw food can spread the resistant bacteria to their owners through poor hygiene. Most people are aware of food poisoning risks from undercooked meat, but may not realize raw meat can also harbor antibiotic-resistant bacteria that could potentially cause untreatable infections. Experts advise using proper #hygiene when handling raw meat and considering the risks of feeding pets a raw food diet. While monitoring is in place for #pathogenic bacteria in meat, this study reveals there may need to be expanded testing and safety #standards for antibiotic-resistant opportunistic bacteria as well to better protect public #health. #MedicalNewsWithDan #AMR #Research #Meat

Fresh food is very essential for good health. To secure fresh food, "Food Microbiology" is very important. Pathogens that cause foodborne illnesses, such as Salmonella, Escherichia coli, Listeria monocytogenes, and Clostridium botulinum. Here, it’s a cauliflower where you can see infected sites. Before eating food it is highly recommended to cook properly with heat and time to kill microorganisms. #AMR, #MICROBIOLOGY, #FOODMICROBIOLOGY, #MDR, #XDR, #TDR. ❤️Share it.

Chicken skin color is influenced by many factors such as breed, age, and most importantly, diet. It is not necessarily indicative of quality. In the U.S., broiler chickens (chickens raised for their meat) are typically fed a balanced diet rich in corn and soybean meal, resulting in a white to pale yellow skin and meat color.
