🤿 Spotlight on Women in Seafood - Team Diving Deep 🤿 As part of the Turn the Tide Entrepreneurship and Leadership program, Team Diving Deep addressed the barrier: "Who does she think she is? Developing your voice to overcome unconscious bias, undermining behaviours, and backlash." 🚀 Their mission: To create a culture within the Australian seafood industry where diversity, respect, and equity are at the heart of every workplace. 🎯 Their solution: The team developed a concept for an online workplace training module designed to: ★ Recognise, challenge, and overcome unconscious bias. ★ Contribute to an inclusive, respectful, and equitable work environment. ★ Foster understanding of diversity and empathy to promote collaboration and success. ★ Eliminate discrimination by empowering employees to actively support visibility and opportunities for all. 🐾 Next steps: The training module is in the concept stage. Further financial assistance and testing will be required to refine and implement it across seafood workplaces. Business, NGOs and development agencies might have natural partnership opportunities but organizational history and the often conflicting perspectives of internal and external stakeholders can make these partnerships hard to realize. Far too often they start and fail, or even fail to start.
