I once served as a waitress, and guess what? I was so good at it. Clients waited until I was on duty before they could come by "Dreams", a restaurant in Kumasi, for our services. I did what most of my colleagues took for granted: going extra to give them value for money. This was after my secondary education at Kumasi Girls Senior High School. My journey in life has not been a straight road but full of 'zigzags' in trying to discover who I am, my make, purpose, and confidence. In a nutshell, just to figure myself out. Throughout those years of trying to find my potential, I've been battled unprovoked in my bid to get to the top of the ladder. One thing they could not battle me for was my desire to change the narrative. I carefully aligned with people who shared my values, principles and goals. They became my role models. They took me in and I learned so much under their tutelage. They were more than happy to help. What am I driving at? Start from anywhere; don't wait until you have it all. You don't need all the resources to start. Do with what's in your hands. Trust the process and identify your space. Build and expand by applying yourself. Take on challenges and don't be too inwardly looking. Lastly don't play it safe. Stretch yourself from time to time. It's not every opportunity that comes with money so slow down on the 'what's in it for me' attitude. Let's unlock our next move together. #diplomatichonours

Recently, I had experience arguing with a Gen Z blaming "The System" saying that they are not able to land a job and told the millennials are lucky. What a deja vu. I used to get rejected by a lot of companies previously. I used to get ghosted by a lot of companies. Even the local company with a low salary offered rejected me. There is a saying "YOU ARE WHAT YOU CONSUME" If the Gen Z focuses on being the Victim. You guys are forever the victim. But if the Gen Z focuses on the Opportunities. You guys will discover a lot of opportunities. So Gen Z, widen your perspectives. Plan ahead, Grab the opportunities and stop thinking you guys are the victims. We are living in the Era where "The Strongest Survive"

When is the right time to resign? This question is subjective, but for me, there are three crucial points to consider: #1: When you are underpaid. #2: When there is nothing more for you to learn at your workplace. If the place pays poorly but offers numerous learning opportunities, I suggest staying for a while. On the other hand, if there's nothing left to learn but the salary is decent, you can remain. #3: When there are no more opportunities to expand your network.
