#EventProfs: Share Your Slides! 📊📂🖼️ At the start of nearly every event session, whether in-person or virtual, attendees ask, “Will you share your slides?” We share our slides by default. ➔ At the beginning of each session, we tell our audience that slides will be shared. ➔ We post QR codes throughout our sessions, providing ungated access to the slides. ➔ Our follow-up emails include links to content tracks with session slides. My call to speakers: Please avoid making your slides so precious or proprietary that you can’t share at least most of your slides in a publicly accessible deck. P.S. I went to see Wicked. It is absolutely unhinged. I will be returning.

So many presentations suck...right? One of the most high-impact ways I help my business clients is with presentation design. Here are 4 simple and powerful clarity practices you can apply to your next presentation (link in comments). (also, for my friends giving workshops at the upcoming Life Sciences Trainers & Educators Network (LTEN) conference - these are best practices you'll want to apply!) #ClarityWins #GetToThePoint

We tend to pick-up speed when we're speaking to an audience or giving a business presentation. My favorite "quick fix" is to pause between slides. When you are finished with a slide, stop... take a breath... pause... click to the next slide... and start a new sentence. The transition to the next slide is the perfect place for a pause. Watch the video for details. #presentationskills #publicspeaking #businesstips #businesspresentations

I’ve been invited to give my talk called: NO MORE DEATH BY POWERPOINT to a life sciences company next week. Here is a simple tip I’m going to share with the audience. When you are presenting virtually, don’t share the title slide on the screen as you are introducing your presentation. The title slide DOES NOT add value to your presentation, and it eats all the real estate on your screen. Your job at the beginning of every presentation is to grab your audience’s attention. You will have a better chance of doing that if your face is the largest thing on the screen. The same idea applies to the Q&A section after your presentation. If you keep a slide with the word: “Questions?” on the screen while the Q&A is happening, you lose the ability to make an impact with your own executive presence.
