Happy International Women's Day from Eunity Solutions! On this #InternationalWomensDay, we celebrate the amazing women who are the heart and soul of our communities. But today, we also want to focus on a vital issue close to our hearts: women's heart health. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women over 50, yet it's often overlooked. This year's theme, Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress, perfectly highlights the need for more awareness and resources dedicated to women's health. Did you know? Historically, women have been underrepresented in heart health research. Women often experience different heart attack symptoms than men, leading to delayed diagnosis. Socioeconomic factors and bias can hinder women's access to proper heart care. Empowering Women, Empowering Health! Let’s commit to bridging these gaps. through: ✅Education: Sharing knowledge about women's heart health risks and symptoms. ✅Advocacy: Encouraging more women to participate in clinical trials. ✅Action: Supporting organizations that provide equitable heart care for all. Take Charge of Your Heart Health! This Women’s Day, let's invest in ourselves! Read our full blog post, Historical Perspective in Women's Heart Health, to learn more and take action towards a healthier you!👇 https://lnkd.in/d4NRBtDB Together, we can accelerate progress for women's heart health! #WomensHeartHealth #InvestInWomen #EunitySolutions Devon Mitchell

You can't solve a problem if you don't know what it is. But issues impacting maternal health outcomes are intersectional and complicated. How do we research and analyze issues such as cultural differences, racial biases, birth plans, and more. Many funders support The Birth Place Lab, a team of cross-discipline researchers that develop new ways of assessing patient experience, provider attitudes, and interprofessional collaboration. Check out The Birth Place Lab to see if their research and tools can support your learning and funding decisions. Outstanding news - desperately needed funding and new research focused on improving women’s health is accelerating with the Biden Administrations plan to invest $12 billion to create a new fund for women’s health research - the executive order signed on Monday will direct the N.I.H. to spend $200 million on women’s health research. The executive order will require agencies to report annually their investments in women’s health research and to study ways that artificial intelligence can be used to advance such research. The N.I.H. will increase by 50 percent investments in small businesses focused on women’s health. The Defense Department also plans to invest $10 million to learn more about cancers and mental health issues affecting women in active military service. #WHAMNOW #3not30 #womenshealth

Today, First Lady Jill Biden announced $110 million in awards from the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) to accelerate transformative research and development in women’s health. There are several awards to address research gaps for women with disabilities, including endometriosis, brain disorders, chronic pain, and more. While this is a huge step in the right direction toward closing research gaps, I wish that the entire initiative on women’s health did a better job of clearly including people under the trans umbrella assigned female at birth. I hope the researchers are inclusive of all AFAB folks and trans women as well. #GenderEquity https://lnkd.in/gWygm-Q4

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a leading cause of death for women, yet funding remains insufficient. CVD-related startups receive less funding compared to other therapeutic areas. Furthermore, most funding is directed towards digital health, leaving other innovative solutions underfunded. According to a recent McKinsey report, focusing on women's heart health could add at least 1.6 million years of higher-quality life and boost the US economy by $28 billion annually by 2040. By investing in women’s heart health, businesses can make a significant impact, addressing unmet needs and tapping into a large, underserved market. This opportunity isn't just limited to the US; global investment is essential. Focusing on women's heart health can drive substantial health improvements and financial benefits worldwide.

Greetings from sunny Spain! 👋 Yesterday, my co-founder and the chief doctor of Sequoia: Men’s Sexual Wellness, Olya, and I arrived in Madrid. 🇪🇸 You might be wondering, what are we doing here? We are continuing our series of trips to conferences. This time, we are participating in the 5th International Consultation on Sexual Medicine(ICSM), organized by the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM). Notably, this time we are here not as attendees but as partners. I should remind you that I am a member of this association and managed to arrange for us to set up our booth. Our goal is to introduce Sequoia to as many people as possible. Usually, when we attend as listeners, we can communicate with 20–30 people per day. Based on our experience in Munich, we realized that with a booth, this number can be increased 4–5 times. We brought with us two beautiful and familiar banners. Over the next two days, we will be introducing event participants to Sequoia, distributing stickers and sticker packs, and collecting contacts of doctors for future collaboration. I will update you on the results in a couple of days. #SexualHealth #SequoiaPower #SexualMedicine #SequoiaHealth #ICSM2024 #ICSM24 #ISSM #MadridConference #HealthInnovation

📨 Did you know that only 3 out of 10 treatment programs worldwide provide gender-specific, evidence-based approaches? 💡 And 83% of facilities serve mixed populations, with only 8% exclusively for women. These are just some of the findings from The Power of Collaboration, a project I had the honor to co-author, recently published in the Addictology Journal. 🎉 Our work highlights three critical issues affecting women with substance use disorders (SUDs) globally and offers actionable recommendations to improve gender-responsive care. 💡 Why does this matter? Women face unique challenges in accessing treatment, and bridging the gaps is essential to improving outcomes and fostering long-term recovery. 👉 In this post, I’m sharing one of our key infographics, showcasing data and insights. I’m deeply grateful to Hendrée Jones, Joanna Travis-Roberts, Rasha Abi Hana, the Global Women´s Network, and ISSUP - International Society of Substance Use Professionals for their invaluable support and collaboration. 💪 You can read the publication here: https://lnkd.in/dbvgACVw

🌍 How can research help transform #WomensHealth? At our recent Advancing Women’s Health research showcase, researchers came together to explore ways to address inequalities and improve health outcomes for all women. The event highlighted the importance of: 👩👩👧👦 Inclusion: Tackling health inequalities and ensuring diverse groups are represented in research. ⛓️💥 Collaboration: Sharing expertise across disciplines to drive innovation. 💬 Patient and Public Involvement (PPI): Working with contributors to shape research and maximise its impact. In our latest blog, Rebekah Burrow reflects on the day and shares practical tips for conducting inclusive research, fostering collaboration, and engaging meaningfully with the public. 📖 Read the blog here: https://lnkd.in/euYm6pst
