We're thrilled to announce the launch of the Keystone LifeSci Collaborative, bringing together key regional stakeholders, including industry leaders, research institutions, and public and community organizations to foster collaboration, innovation, and growth in the life science sector across six Southeastern Pennsylvania counties: Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks, Delaware, Chester, and Berks.
The inaugural meeting took place on March 6, 2024, where over 30 leaders from the region’s life sciences companies and institutions, including Adaptimmune, Century Therapeutics, Inc, Integral Molecular, Iovance Biotherapeutics, Inc., LAMPIRE Biological Laboratories, Inc., and VintaBio, participated in a facilitated discussion about opportunities for industry growth, stability, and vitality in Southeastern PA. The group focused on the region’s unique advantages and identified five priorities for action to coalesce around, including strengthening business-to-business connectivity, developing a coordinated strategy for building a talent pipeline, influencing policy, raising awareness of life sciences careers, and marketing the region as a life sciences hub.
Following the meeting, more than 50 public and community partners, including the University City Science Center, Montgomery County Community College, Drexel University, CIC Philadelphia, Bucks County Community College, the Philadelphia Education Fund, Philadelphia Department of Commerce, and representatives of U.S. Senator Robert P. Casey, Jr. convened for a strategic discussion to better understand how to assist and execute on these defined priorities.
The Keystone Life Sci Collaborative is supported by new funding from the American Rescue Plan’s Good Jobs Challenge through our partners at Philadelphia Works, Inc. and aims to address ongoing shared business priorities and enhance regional competitiveness in the life sciences industry.
The Collaborative is based on the nationally recognized “Next Gen Sector Partnership” model, active in over 100 regions and more than 20 states. It is the first of its kind in the Southeastern Pennsylvania region.
