🔬 Our Research: Driving Progress in Brain Cancer Treatment At Brainwaves NI, we are committed to making a difference in the fight against brain cancer. Over the last 10-15 years, advancements in brain cancer treatment have been limited, which is why research is absolutely essential to change the future for those affected by this devastating disease. Through the dedicated support of our community, we are proud to fund crucial research at Queen’s University Belfast. This partnership allows us to support innovative studies, providing researchers with the resources they need to explore new treatments and improve outcomes for brain cancer patients. In recent years, our fundraising efforts have raised over £500,000 for this life-saving work. Every donation helps bring us closer to breakthroughs that could change countless lives. But our work is far from over. Continued support is needed to push the boundaries of what’s possible in brain cancer treatment. Together, we can drive meaningful progress and offer hope to patients and their families. 💜 🌐 To learn more about our mission, the research we support, and how you can get involved, visit www.brainwaves-ni.org. #BrainwavesNI #BrainCancerResearch #QueensUniversityBelfast #FundingHope #SupportResearch #BrainTumourAwareness #TogetherForACure #ResearchMatters #MakeADifference

Today marks the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Each pink ribbon, fundraiser, and dollar raised represent someone who has been impacted by Breast Cancer in their lifetime. October is no longer about "awareness," as approximately 2.3 million women worldwide were diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) is an organization close to my heart. BCRF is the highest-rated organization dedicated solely to breast cancer research, funding innovative grants that lead the way in groundbreaking discoveries. Now, it is time to prioritize prevention, education, and most importantly, research. Research is critical in driving advancements in early detection, revolutionizing treatments, and ultimately providing hope for a cure. 🩷 #BreastCancerResearchFoundation #October #PreventionandResearch #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #CancerSupport

6.5 million euros funding from the European FIGHT KIDS CANCER program for four projects at #KiTZ focused on childhood #braintumors and the development of new #diagnostic and #therapeutic procedures. The "Fight Kids Cancer" program, supported by non-profit organizations, funds transnational early #clinicalstudies and #researchprojects aimed at improving the situation for children with #cancer. Clinical pediatric cancer research relies on international collaboration due to the small patient population, and programs like “Fight Kids Cancer“ are crucial for enabling these efforts. Prof. Dr. med. Stefan M. Pfister highlighted the importance of such funding in improving outcomes for young cancer patients. https://lnkd.in/edPnfJXi The Hopp Children’s Cancer Center Heidelberg (KiTZ) is a joint institution of the DKFZ German Cancer Research Center, University Hospital Heidelberg (UKHD) and Heidelberg University. /mg

October marks #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth - a time to highlight the devastating impact of breast cancer on thousands of Australians. Every day, 58 #Australians face a breast cancer diagnosis. #TheNationalBreastCancerFoundation (NBCF) aims to achieve Zero Deaths by focusing on the 8% who don’t survive beyond five years. NBCF relies on the generosity of Australians to fund vital research in prevention, detection, treatment, and improving quality of life. If you are interested in donating to a cause, funds are being raised for PhD candidate Moganalaxmi Reckdharajkumar's vital project. Her project aims to uncover how metastatic breast cancer cells manipulate surrounding cells to aid their growth and progression: https://lnkd.in/gwHbhuQH Breast Cancer Network Australia
