I believe that successful* book marketing strategy can be boiled down into 3 key secrets. Why? Because this is the formula I've seen work time and time again for successful nonfiction authors. Here they are: 1. Clarify your message -Your reader needs to be crystal clear on what your book is about and if it's relevant to them. This means you need to be crystal clear when you talk about it. 2. Invest your resources -When most people read "invest" they automatically think about money. While that can be advantageous for some authors, the most important resource to invest in book promotion is TIME. 3. Adjust your mindset -Promoting a book does not equal slimy sales tactics. On the contrary! It's all about being authentic and actually connecting with your audience. This starts in the mind. This is the framework I work through with my 1:1 clients, and it's the framework that supports the lessons I teach in my online course. It's also the framework I'll be using to build out my group coaching program. It's not a magic wand. It still takes time, effort, and consistency to see results. But the cost of not implementing it? Well, that could mean the loss of readers, bulk sales, speaking engagements, you name it.
