How do you balance kindness with setting boundaries as a leader? Contrary to opinion, these things are not mutually exclusive, in fact - modelling good boundaries is an excellent way to help your team do the same. A great place to start is by finding your non-negotiables. What will you not move? Is it family time? Workouts? Or something else. Whatever it may be, set those boundaries, understand why it's important to you - and then stand firm. We teach others how to treat us. When empathy is taken too far….. Empathy is well known for being one of the most essential skills in leadership. It’s also important to recognise that an overabundance of empathy can present challenges, mainly towards your own health. If you are leading a dynamic team and constantly absorbing others’ emotions, it can lead to burnout. Remember you need to put your own life jacket on first before you start rescuing others! Picture context…. My dog followed me into the gym this morning and was shivering looking at me so I gave him my jacket!! And when my husband walked in, I can tell you the word he called me was very far from ‘empathetic’ 😂 #empathy #leadership

I’m a recovering Pleaser. Are you a Pleaser? 🌟 While helping others is admirable, Pleasers often struggle with balancing altruism and self-care.
