 In many cases, it's better to accept a fair offer from a qualified buyer who is ready to close. The saying "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" is very relevant to business transactions.  While it's tempting for sellers to try to maximize their profit by attracting multiple offers, it's important to remember that a sure thing is often better than the potential for a slightly higher price. I have seen deals fall apart when the seller gets too greedy. Buyers get frustrated and walk away, or their financing may fall through.
