What an incredible week! The Multicultural and Women Affinity Summits served to energize and galvanize my purpose: To help my clients live their most authentic life through financial education and purposeful saving and growth solutions. My biggest takeaways: 1. Women earn less, do less planning, and spend more time out of work due to caretaking duties than men. This means that most women are grossly underprepared for retirement or unexpected life events. 👏LET’S👏CHANGE👏THAT!! 2. My Hispanic community is GROSSLY underserved and uneducated when it comes to finance and planning. Same goes for diverse communities in the U.S., including the African American, Asian, and LGBTQ+ community. AGAIN - 👏let’s👏change👏that!! 3. Most people do nothing about their lack of education or organization when it comes to planning because of three reasons: A. They leave it to their spouse (ladies, I get this a lot 😕) B. They are embarrassed to admit that they do not understand where to start and feel like they “should” know. C. They do the same thing their parents did before them. I would love to open the door to a conversation that addresses your goals, dreams, and aspirations around building and retaining wealth. Let’s break down barriers together and plan for a better future, for ourselves and our families! As underrepresented founders, we often face unique challenges that can feel overwhelming. The road to success is littered with hurdles, and at times, it may seem like support is fading. But here’s the truth: resilience is our greatest asset! It’s crucial to remember that our journeys are not only valid but also vital. Each setback is an opportunity to learn and grow. By embracing our unique perspectives and experiences, we contribute to a richer entrepreneurial landscape. Let’s remind ourselves that perseverance pays off, and every step forward, no matter how small, counts! Community is key! While support may wane sometimes, it’s essential to lean on fellow founders and allies. Networking with those who understand our struggles can provide encouragement and fresh insights. Together, we can uplift one another and foster an environment where everyone thrives. So let’s keep pushing forward! Our stories matter, and our successes will inspire future generations of underrepresented founders. Let's soldier on and turn obstacles into stepping stones! Is it that you don't have enough time? Or is that you don't find yourself deserving of your own care & presence? 💖 Oftentimes as socialized Asian Women & LGBTQ+ People our powers of emotional intuition and empathic abilities are often treated as a given to be exploited while also being devalued and underresourced. We're expected to give to others everything we have to the detriment of our own health and wellness. It's the ultimate sacrifice and badge of honor to have your body break down. It shows you care. This is when we say yes to more and more roles and responsibilities. And then we feel like "I don't have enough time, even for myself." "I've really been wanting to xyz...but maybe later after I finish all these obligations to work and other people." If you don't put yourself first, how will you ground in what truly matters to you so you can assess what deserves your attention or not? How might you move from being a deep empath to being grounded in your own energy and capacities and boundaries, so that you can be of the highest service and invite people to their sense of empowered choice and agency as well? That while you're out there being the champion for your community who is tending to the needs of your own body, rest, care, and support so that you can be deeply connected to your why, your passions, your pleasure, your desires, what lights you up with joy and fulfillment and is regenerative versus feeling available for others' needs and pulled in different directions at all times on a whim, leaving you feeling drained, exhausted, frustrated, and resentful because you may be neglecting your own needs and wants and the larger vision for your life. Want to be in community with other badass Asian Women & LGBTQ+ People who just get it & who want to support you in creating more supportive, liberatory ways of living our truth? Join NAAAP New York & I, along with Margaret Wang Diana Hickey & Justine Vu @justshapeshift on Instagram 🍯🐝 for HIVE & HONEY 🐝🍯: Empowered Leadership For Emotional Caregivers - A talk-story gathering & co-creative play space for API women & LGBTQ+ community members. Our Global Equality Collective family is GROWING! Not just in size, but in POWER! ⚡️ Francesca Roberts is my Edtech ear 👂 brain 🧠 and lean into ❤️🩹 Her #edtech knowledge, intelligence and innovation inspire me every time we talk / VM. 🥰 Being one of the 13% #edtech #FemaleFounders is HARD. Being primary carer for 3 kids is HARD. You need a team you can trust, delegate and to see what you can’t. And as a SME who is all about #FlexibleWorking sub-contracting is the way forward. Bringing in others balancing childcare with careers, like I am. We know when we are best productive. When we need boundaries. Or be told we need them. When we feel overwhelmed. Especially when there are barriers EVERYWHERE. This honesty is at our core to ensure inclusion and opportunities. Asking for help is something Cesca has helped me improve at. The Edtech market is beyond challenging at the moment so getting advice from her is helping us shape a better approach for our schools. Making us better - but through working patterns that support intentional inclusion, and assistive technology that provides real, faster and the inexpensive alternative to Human Resources. So if you want to support those of us that are working in the margins - for those in the margins, come talk to us. I’d love to hear your thoughts on how you can help power us up, or we can help you.
“The GEC is everything I love - a fast moving, Edtech solution with strong female leadership.” We shine the spotlight🔦 on Francesca Roberts, Edtech Advisor, who is passionate about people, with a background in psychology, and a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. Francesca is the founder of Let's Go offering external marketing, operations and sales support to businesses just like ours. At the GEC, we are proud to be one of the 13% female-led Edtech solutions walking the talk for diversity in technology. Understanding the latest tech and providing high-quality services, support and inspiration for intentional inclusion is an ongoing learning experience for us so Francesca is an essential part of the group. “I strongly align with everything the GEC stand for and I am thrilled to be supporting the team!” Get in touch to talk about how we can help bring the #InclusionRevolution to your school. #meettheteam #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #edtech #schoolculture #inclusion #educationtechnology #WomenInTech #WomenEd #WonenEdtech #WomenInSTEM #femalefounder

Believe in Yourself - Now is the Time to Chase Your Dreams by Joshua Tyler Berglan My friends, we are living in unprecedented times. Never before have the doors of opportunity been so open for those who have struggled and been underrepresented. The era of equity and inclusion is truly upon us. For too long, underserved communities like minorities, women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those with disabilities have faced obstacles and prejudices that made achieving their dreams seem impossible. But I'm here to tell you - that is all changing. The world is waking up to the incredible value, perspectives, and talents that these groups bring to the table. If you are part of one of these communities, do not let your circumstances define you or limit your ambitions. You have a unique voice and set of experiences that make you incredibly valuable. Businesses, organizations, governments - they all desperately need the innovation and creativity that comes from having a diverse set of minds working together. I was once held back by doubters who said I could never make it because of my disability. But I refused to let their smallmindedness deter me. I believed in myself, worked incredibly hard, and created opportunities where there were none. And you can do the same. The path will not be easy. You will face setbacks and discrimination. But understand that the world is changing rapidly. Those with outdated prejudices are becoming relics. The future belongs to those who embrace humanity in all its wondrous diversity. So I implore you - believe in yourself. Identify your passion and go after it relentlessly. Build a support system of people who see your true worth. Use your unique perspective as strength, not a weakness. And if doors remain closed, kick them down and create your own opportunities. The time is now, my friends. Reach out and seize the chance to elevate yourselves and your communities. Together, we can and will build a more equitable world for all. Stay focused, stay determined, and never ever stop chasing your dreams. #DreamBelievers #NoExcuses #BreakingBarriers #DisruptingNorms #EmbraceDiversity #InspiredMinds #UnlimitedPotential #InclusionMatters #RepresentationMatters #DisabilityAwareness #DisabledAndAble #DefyStereotypes #DreamWithoutLimits #RemoveObstacles #KnockDownDoors #UnleashYourTalents #ChampionsOfChange
