The EV charging UK industry is worth c.£0.5bn, compared to £510bn of retail sales in the UK. However, there seems to be a weird perspective in the EV Charging industry that you can install and operate an EFFECTIVE EV CHARGING SITE WITHOUT following the GOLDEN RULES that retail brands and retail sales follow to be successful. At Breathe Charging (CPO), we stand apart from this perspective. We have developed our SIX GOLDEN RULES, a unique approach adapted from standard retail sales principles, to ensure that the EV charging sites we operate are not just set up but are also RUN EFFECTIVELY, maximising their POTENTIAL, PROFITABILITY and BENEFIT for our business clients. If this approach makes sense for your sites, please DM me, or email me at david.gardner@breathecharging.co.uk, or call me on my mobile at 07808 098539.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐄𝐕 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐝𝐝 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 Adding EV chargers to your commercial property is more than keeping up with trends—it’s an investment in long-term value. Here’s why: - Increased Property Value: EV chargers are a premium amenity that can significantly boost the appeal and market value of your property. - Attract High-Quality Tenants: Businesses and residents are seeking properties that support their EV needs, making charging infrastructure a key differentiator. - Future-Proofing: As EV adoption continues to rise, properties with chargers will remain competitive while others risk being left behind. For retail spaces, EV chargers encourage longer customer visits. EV drivers charging their vehicles are more likely to stay and shop, increasing foot traffic and revenue. Installing EV chargers isn’t just about meeting today’s needs—it’s about positioning your property for the future. Properties that adapt to this growing demand now will reap the benefits for years to come.

Retailers with EV charging stations installed typically see an average 4% increase in foot traffic and a 5% increase in revenue. This benefits business owners and retailers willing to make the change and utilize grants, rebates, and incentives offered to commercial businesses implementing EV charging. ⚡ With many public EV charger locations listed online, the influx of potential customers creates a unique opportunity for small businesses to thrive. Maebh Reynolds featured with Asif Ghafoor of Be.EV along with Tom Hurst of Fastned in this article. Thanks to Forecourt Trader for the mention. “Our survey of over 500 EV drivers showed that 63% are more likely to frequent and spend at locations with EV charging. This highlights a substantial market opportunity for forecourts to capitalise on. By integrating EV charging stations, forecourts can control the customer journey, using these points to gather data and understand consumer behaviour. This information can be used for personalised promotions, transforming the forecourt into a key destination.” https://lnkd.in/eYbVk_V9

Forecourts are yet to really get into the #evcharging action and when they do, a lot more customer confidence will increase for EV adoption, what do you think? Forecourts are the visible side of mobility infrastructure and once they buy into #electricvehicle charging as a business, customers will have more confidence to make the switch.

This is the biggest insult to consumers’ intelligence (both of EV and ICE consumers) that I’ve seen in a long time. Apparently posters like this are due to be posted at fuel stations around Ireland in coming weeks. Home charging is cheaper, that’s no secret, however, the price on this poster for Electric is based on 90% home charging, 10% public charging yet these signs will be posted at the one spot where EV users will be looking at charging publically, which costs drastically more per km. Imagine walking into a shop and seeing the cost of coffee quoted on posters priced at a a blend of 90% what it would cost for you to make it at home, and 10% what it costs in the shop.

Retail property owners often say, "The Juice is not worth the Squeeze," regarding adding EV charging stations. Sometimes I think this is written down in some common retail/commercial real estate handbook. They worry about maintenance, outdated technology, and losing parking spaces for ICE vehicles. All which are valid. When I present proposals for stall rent or revenue sharing from CPOs, owners typically have no capex/opex expenses, but yet the stall rent is not enough or are hesitant due to the unknown utilization risks, even if revenue sharing could surpass fixed stall rent and be more profitable. My question is: How much juice is worth the squeeze?! If you operate EV chargers or own retail property with EV charging stations, what is your average monthly net revenue or stall rent? Please share in the comments or message me directly. Can you help with my curiosity? 😊 I understand that different installation situations and market utilization will be different. Let's start a conversation and share the juice! 😉 #evcharging, #evrevenue, #EV, #retail, #evrealestate, #emobility,

bp pulse has signed a deal with mall owner Simon Property Group to install and operate more than 900 DC fast chargers at 75 sites across the United States. The first locations with chargers from bp pulse will be open to public in early 2026 and support vehicles from nearly all EV makers. bp pulse has more than 39,000 EV charge points globally, and plans to have 100,000 points by 2030. (via Reuters) Simon owns and manages many of the US' largest and most prestigious shopping malls, so these should be premier locations. And doing the math (900/75), means an average of 12 ports per site. This is likely also a significant win for Alpitronic (unconfirmed), whom bp pulse has been specifying recently in its NEVI applications and awarded sites. https://lnkd.in/gq7QpNX9

A key part of any successful project is establishing the goals and project ambitions up front and then designing a solution that both meets that need but which can adapt and evolve as requirements change. These Golden Rules sit at the heart of achieving that. Breathe Charging (CPO) David Gardner
