𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐲 🍻 Cheers to International Beer Day! 🍻 Today, we celebrate the diverse and delightful world of beer. From rich stouts to crisp lagers, sour ales to refreshing non-alcoholic options, there’s a brew for everyone! Back in 2007, Jesse Avshalomov and his friends were enjoying a casual day of conversation and beers in Santa Cruz, California, when they conceived the idea of International Beer Day. Their vision was simple: 1. Bring friends together to appreciate the taste of beer. 2. Honor those who craft and serve our favorite brews. 3. Create a global celebration of beers from every culture, uniting people around the world. Fun Ways to Celebrate: • 🍲 Cook with Beer: Experiment with beer-infused recipes, like beer-battered fish, beer cheese soup, or a rich stout stew. • 🎮 Beer-themed Games: Host a beer trivia night or organize a beer pong tournament with friends. • 🌟 Beer and Food Pairing: Plan a beer and food pairing dinner, matching different beers with complementary dishes. • 📚 Learn More: Read a book or watch a documentary about the history and craft of beer brewing. • 🌎 Virtual Cheers: If you can’t meet in person, organize a virtual beer tasting session with friends from around the world. Why We Love International Beer Day: • A beer for every budget and preference. • Cherished memories at reunions, backyard cookouts, and get-togethers. Did You Know? • 📜 The oldest known recipe for beer dates back over 4,000 years to ancient Mesopotamia. • 🌟 The key ingredients of beer—water, barley, hops, and yeast—have remained largely unchanged for centuries. • 🗺 The German Beer Purity Law of 1516, Reinheitsgebot, is one of the oldest food regulations still in use today. • 🚀 Astronauts have brewed beer in space! The Vostok Space Beer project is working on creating a beer suitable for drinking in microgravity. So, how are you celebrating today? Share your favorite beer stories, tag your friends, and let’s toast to the incredible world of beer! 🍻 #Cheers #DrinkResponsibly #InternationalBeerDay #BeerDay #BeerDayCelebrations #Beerfest #BeerDayFest

The Brewers Association (BA) released its Beer Style Guidelines for 2024 and included is the addition of a new style, Italian-Style Pilsener! Originating in northern Italy, the beer combines a traditional German-Style Pilsener with a significant addition of noble- variety dry hops. The result is a light, refreshing lager-style beer with a more subtle, herbal hop aroma than the aggressively fruity or tropical aromas found in many dry-hopped American- or West Coast-Style India Pale Ales. This unique combination of Old World tradition + New World innovation makes the beer stand out as a singular style! “We’re excited to have a new home for the many Italian-Style Pilseners we’ve seen popping up in the global beer market over the past few years,” said Chris Williams, BA Competition Director. “Giving these beers an opportunity to shine in their own standalone competition category gives us the chance to recognize this flavorful style. We look forward to seeing who makes the best Italian-Style Pilsener in the world for the 2025 World Beer Cup Competition.” “The brewing landscape continues to evolve worldwide. We want to ensure that the BA Beer Style Guidelines continue to be a trusted resource and adequately reflect current beer styles across the globe as brewers innovate and refine their beers.” “The best Pilseners are ones we drink with friends.” — Stephen Carter King Source: Brewers Association • Em Sauter EDITED: I missed an important attribution when I first posted this — Em Sauter — who did the original artwork (below) — my mistake!! ⚽ Looking for somewhere to watch the #CommunityShield tomorrow that has real craft beer 🍻 and great food? When I'm looking for the perfect place to watch the football, I have 3 non-negotiables: 1. Must have real craft beer (not masquerading big-brewery-owned brands as 'craft' - you know who you are!!) 2. Must have delicious food. 3. Must have a friendly atmosphere and enough screens that you can always get a good view. Believe it or not, those three things together are very hard to come by in London. But allow me to recommend the Firefly Bar and Kitchen in Balham. Barely a minute's walk from Balham station, Firefly has a really welcoming atmosphere, a range of true craft beers and delicious Thai food. With multiple screens, getting a good view is never a problem. The only negative is that every time I go there, my team seems to lose... I guess you cant have everything! Do you have any recommendations for a craft beer-loving footy fan looking for a great spot to watch the game in London? #football #craftbeer #restaurants

🍁 Happy Canadian Beer Day! 🍻 Did you know Craft Beer is Canada's second-largest beer segment by volume in the traditional On Premise channel? While its slightly behind Domestic Beer, it still holds a significant share of beer sales. What stands out is that 49% of Craft Beer drinkers prioritise one key factor when choosing their beer: that it’s made by a local company. This top factor shows the strong preference for supporting Canadian-produced brands.
