The sixth poll in the Inner Circle MBA Business School World Series for 2024 has now closed and the results for the Circle League Northeastern US Division are in. After 170 votes, the results were as follows: Columbia Business School: 119 (70%) NYU Stern School of Business: 20 (12%) The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth: 19 (11%) Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management: 12 (7%) A resounding win for the group’s favourites and number 1 seed, Columbia Business School, who took an early lead and never looked back, ultimately winning by nearly 100 votes. They progress to the postseason and slot in to the first Circle League Division Series poll ahead of Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. That poll will go ahead on Friday 4 October. The race for second place and a potential wildcard spot was tight, but ultimately inconsequential. It was NYU Stern who took second by the tightest of margins – just one vote – over Dartmouth Tuck, 20 votes to 19. It didn’t matter, though, as NYU Stern’s 20 votes are not enough for it to overtake the school currently in the second and final place in the Circle League Wildcard race, SDA Bocconi on 33 votes, and so NYU Stern leaves the competition. Also leaving at this point are the third and fourth placed schools in this group, Dartmouth Tuck and Cornell Johnson. Many thanks to all who have voted so far. Keep following to see which schools take up the remaining places in both the Inner League and Circle League Division Series.

The fifth poll in the Inner Circle MBA Business School World Series for 2024 has now closed and the results for the Inner League Northeastern US Division are in. After 180 votes, the results were as follows: Harvard Business School: 94 (52%) The Wharton School: 49 (27%) MIT Sloan School of Management: 25 (14%) Yale School of Management: 12 (7%) In such a star-studded group – the average ranking of the four schools represented was a truly astounding 8.25 – there were bound to be big name casualties. On this occasion those casualties were number 6 ranked MIT Sloan and number 15 ranked Yale School of Management, with world number 1 Wharton only just scraping through with a wildcard after securing second place. It is Harvard Business School who win this group, outperforming their surprisingly low ranking of 11 and making a mockery of their third seeding. They will go through to the postseason, slotting in below London Business School in the first Inner League Division Series poll, while Wharton will have to wait to see if they also progress as one of the two schools with the most votes in the wildcard race. Their 49 votes puts them straight into pole position in the Inner League Wildcard standings, ahead of Cambridge Judge Business School on 33 votes. IESE Business School, with 26 votes, is nudged into third in the wildcard race and therefore leaves the competition. Also leaving the competition at this point are the third and fourth placed schools in this group, MIT Sloan and Yale School of Management. Many thanks to all who have voted so far. Keep following to see which schools take up the remaining places in both the Inner League and Circle League Division Series.

The tenth poll in the Inner Circle MBA Business School World Series for 2024 has now closed and the results for the Circle League Western US Division are in. After 121 votes, the results were as follows: University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business: 104 (86%) University of California, Irvine - The Paul Merage School of Business: 7 (6%) UW Foster School of Business: 6 (5%) Brigham Young University Marriott School of Business: 4 (3%) In another lopsided group Bay Area powerhouse Berkeley Haas has emerged victorious, cracking the century while its three other group members failed to reach double digits. Their 104 votes, though, whilst dominant in this group, only see them slot into third position in the first Circle League Division Series poll, behind the 119 votes of Columbia Business School, and the 105 votes of Oxford Saïd. That poll will take place on Tuesday 1 October. The Circle League Wildcard Race is hotting up, too. With 7 votes in this poll, surprise 2022 finalist UCI Paul Merage has secured second place in the group, but only fifth place so far in the Wildcard Race, meaning that they are eliminated from this year’s competition. Imperial College Business School, with 39 votes, and SDA Bocconi, with 33 votes, remain in the two Circle League Wildcard positions; with only one poll to come in this year’s Circle League regular season – the Asia Division – Imperial College Business School is guaranteed a place in the postseason. They slot into the final position in the first Circle League Division Series poll where they will remain unless the second placed school in the Circle League Asia Division can top their 39 votes, in which case Imperial will take the wildcard slot in the second Circle League Division Series, and SDA Bocconi will exit the competition. Speaking of exiting the competition, that is the fate for the third and fourth placed schools in today’s results, Washington Foster and BYU Marriott, who join UCI Paul Merage on the sidelines. The Division Series polls continue to take shape. This is how they currently stand: Inner League Division Series 1 London Business School Stanford University Graduate School of Business Harvard Business School The Wharton School Inner League Division Series 2 INSEAD Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management TBC TBC Circle League Division Series 1 Columbia Business School Saïd Business School, University of Oxford University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business Imperial College Business School Circle League Division Series 2 The University of Chicago Booth School of Business HEC Paris TBC TBC Keep following to see how it all shapes up. The postseason begins on 30 September.

The results from the ninth poll in the 2024 Inner Circle MBA Business School World Series.
The ninth poll in the Inner Circle MBA Business School World Series for 2024 has now closed and the results for the Inner League Western US Division are in. After 173 votes, the results were as follows: Stanford University Graduate School of Business: 144 (83%) UCLA Anderson School of Management: 14 (8%) W. P. Carey School of Business – Arizona State University: 8 (5%) USC Marshall School of Business: 7 (4%) In an extraordinary performance Stanford GSB has made a mockery of its latest FT ranking to accumulate 144 votes – an incredible 83% of the total for this group. That sees them move into the second slot in the first Inner League Division Series, ahead of Harvard Business School, but below two-time defending champions, London Business School. That poll will take place on Monday 30 September. UCLA Anderson has taken second place in the group, but their 14 votes were only enough to put them in fifth place in the Inner League Wildcard Race, and therefore out of the competition. Also out at this point are this group’s third and fourth placed schools, Arizona State Carey, and USC Marshall. With only one more region to be decided in the Inner League for this year – the Asia Division – we can now confirm that the school in first place in the Inner League Wildcard race, Wharton, is now guaranteed one of the two postseason wildcard places in the Inner League. That means they slot into the fourth position in the first Inner League Division poll where they will remain unless the second placed school in the Inner League Asia Division can score more than their 49 votes, in which case Wharton will move to the last slot in the second Inner League Division Series poll. At this point Cambridge Judge Business School holds the second Inner League wildcard position, with 33 votes. So, the Division Series polls continue to take shape. This is how they currently stand: Inner League Division Series 1 London Business School Stanford University Graduate School of Business Harvard Business School The Wharton School Inner League Division Series 2 INSEAD Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management TBC TBC Circle League Division Series 1 Columbia Business School Saïd Business School, University of Oxford TBC TBC Circle League Division Series 2 The University of Chicago Booth School of Business HEC Paris TBC TBC Keep following to see how it all shapes up. The results from the Circle League Championship series are in and it’s a hearty congratulations to Columbia Business School who have won the Circle League Championship for the first time. They therefore make their debut in the Inner Circle MBA Business School World Series final, where they will meet London Business School, on Monday 14 October. After 173 votes, the full Circle League Championship Series results were as follows: Columbia Business School: 79 (46%) The University of Chicago Booth School of Business: 41 (24%) Saïd Business School, University of Oxford: 32 (18%) HEC Paris: 21 (12%) A comfortable win for Columbia Business School in a poll that was relatively even across the three days. They pulled out to an early lead and maintained it throughout; Oxford Saïd Business School held second place for much of day one and the early part of day two before Chicago Booth flexed its midwestern muscles and charged off in pursuit of CBS. They never really got close though, and so it is the venerable New York City institution which joins London Business School in a marquee World Series final. That it is Columbia Business School which takes on London Business School in this, the last ever Inner Circle MBA Business School World Series final, is not without a touch of additional interest. The two schools form something of a doubles pairing, combining as they do to form one of the world’s best Executive MBA programs, the EMBA-Global. There will be some tough decisions for some in the final. For staff, students, faculty, and alumni of London Business School the choice will probably be clear. Equally so for those associated with Columbia Business School. For students and alumni of the EMBA-Global, however, this final represents something of a Sophie’s Choice: a chance to support one alma mater at the expense of another. Time will tell how they vote. And so, with 18 out of 19 polls complete, it has come to this. London Business School vs Columbia Business School in the Inner Circle MBA Business School World Series final on Monday 14 October. Who will emerge victorious in the last ever edition? Cast your vote next week to have your say.
