🤝 Are you leveraging the Law of Reciprocity? 🤝 Building Professional Relationships that Pay Dividends? Reflecting on recent interactions, it's clear how the Law of Reciprocity shapes meaningful connections in work and in life in general. 🔹 I placed a CFO with a business that needed an overhaul of its Finance strategy; in doing so I recognised that this growing business also needed help with its People strategy and so I introduced a HR Consultant in my network to partner with the company. In return, this individual’s been on my speed-dial and has been happy for me to tap into her expertise on all things HR related which my clients and candidates have benefitted from. 🔹 While I didn't directly place another Finance Director, the mutual trust we built during his job search earlier in his career has led him to rely on me for all his finance recruitment needs since. 🔹 The case study a Chairman was willing to share after a piece of consultancy work I delivered which resulted in a Board Room restructure and the appointment of the company’s first Finance Director, benefitting the company hugely, has opened doors for me leading to FD recruitment campaigns with several other comparable businesses. Relying solely on traditional search methods overlooks the power of personal connections in today's job market. People buy from people they know, like, and trust. In today's job market, the potential of expanding your network beyond job boards and recruiters to include past colleagues, peers, and acquaintances is immense. Reconnect on LinkedIn, show genuine interest in their careers, and nurture these relationships. This approach can bring about unexpected opportunities and give you a feeling of control in your job search. Today’s photo? It’s reciprocity in action! We rescued hens that a commercial egg producer had retired (the white ones are actually turkey eggs from birds that managed to avoid our table at Christmas). Our neighbours kindly tended to our flock when we were away for the bank holiday and benefitted from the eggs and a further glut as our hens have enjoyed the recent warm weather. Our dear neighbour surprised us with a Victoria Sponge this morning using our eggs, knowing our daughter's German exchange student arrives this evening! In essence, by giving generously and fostering genuine connections, we create a ripple effect of goodwill that often comes back to enrich our lives and careers in unexpected ways. A reminder to continue building meaningful relationships and give back to our communities, both professional and life in general. #Reciprocity #Financejobs #Business
