I connect with a lot of people in their 20's who put so much pressure on themselves to figure out what they want to do with their lives. While all of us in our 30's know, it's very unlikely that you will be doing the same thing you were doing in your 20's when you're in your 30's. Focus on maximizing your ability to: - learn (about yourself, the world, and things you're curious about) - grow (turn strengths into superpowers) - connect (with similarly ambitious, values-aligned peers) To paraphrase Tim Ferriss, choose a path where you will cultivate relationships, skills, and knowledge that can help you for the rest of your life. You'll figure it out as you go.

8 expectations you must let go of in your 20s: 1. The perfect career path is a straight line: Instead, try side-entrepreneurship and unexpected paths. You'll learn so much. 2. Success comes overnight: Nothing worth doing is easy. Think in decades, not days. 3. You should have it all figured out: My career was an utter failure until 29 years old. Time is on your side. 4. The myth of the perfect balance: Work-life balance is difficult. Immerse yourself in something you love doing. (here's how: https://lnkd.in/e-DBtMDu) 5. Comparing your progress to others: Don't be a version of someone else you admire, be your best self. 6. The need for external validation: If you love who you've become, that's all that matters. 7. Fear of missing out: Don't worry about what other people are doing. Stay focused and compound. 8. That failure is the end: Big wins are on the other side of failure. Get to failure fast & your wins will come sooner. ~~~ ✍️ Anything I miss or you'd add? ♻️ Reshare if this hits home for you.
