Today, we pause to honor the lives lost to violence, hate, and discrimination. Transgender Day of Remembrance is a time to reflect on the lives of transgender and gender non-conforming individuals who were tragically taken too soon. 💔 This day serves not only as a remembrance of those we have lost, but also as a call to action. It's a reminder of the ongoing struggles faced by the transgender community — and a commitment to creating a world where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. 💖 In their memory, let us: -Stand against violence and discrimination in all forms. -Support trans rights and equality, both in our communities and beyond. -Amplify transgender voices, stories, and experiences. -Honor those who have passed by working toward a future of acceptance and safety for all. To the trans and gender-nonconforming community: we see you. We remember you. And we will continue to fight for a world where you are loved, valued, and protected. November is Transgender Awareness Month. This month, let’s stand together to support our trans, Two-Spirit, non-binary, and gender-diverse kin by learning from them, listening to them, and working together to dispel harmful ideas about gender. You probably know someone who identifies as transgender, Two-Spirit, non-binary, or gender-diverse. Understanding what it means to be a gender-diverse person is vital to eliminating transphobia and forms of gender-based violence. We can do this through listening to the lived experiences of people who experience transphobia. Take a look at this video from Ygender’s Trans 101 series to learn more about supporting and uplifting our trans, Two-Spirit, non-binary, and gender-diverse kin: https://buff.ly/3YuqInE

Tomorrow is Transgender Day of Visibility, or TDoV, a day to acknowledge and celebrate the transgender community. Trans visibility is essential as it can be difficult for many trans and gender diverse people to feel proud of their identity when there is a lack of representation and role models. TDoV is a time to take up space - be seen, be heard and be proud. As a proud feminist health organisation, Women's Health Victoria knows the impact of inequality on health and wellbeing. That's why we are committed to building a more inclusive and safe environment for all program users and staff, including non-binary, trans, intersex and gender diverse people. You can learn more about our commitment to gender diversity and inclusion here - https://lnkd.in/e7zA7cGP

Today is Trans Day of Visibility! Let’s take action to support gender justice and affirm the rights of all trans people. One way to advocate for transgender individuals is by fighting for access to gender-affirming care, which is currently under threat in our state. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live authentically and access the healthcare they need. Banning gender-affirming care prevents people from receiving the care that is important to their well-being. So, as we celebrate Trans Day of Visibility, let’s show love and support to the trans community by advocating against bans on gender-affirming care.
