𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞 Scientists from Aarhus University in Denmark have unveiled an innovative pill that can mimic the positive effects of physical activity. Although it does not promise to make a person more endurance or faster, the drug can significantly improve overall health and reduce hunger. The pill contains a molecule called #LaKe, which preliminary evidence suggests has similar health effects as a 10-km run at a fast pace. It mimics the body's natural metabolic response to fasting and exercise. This results in increased levels of lactate and ketones in the body, which serve as an energy source for cells, while reducing free fatty acids in the blood and suppressing appetite. Research suggests that the drug may also improve concentration and help treat serious conditions such as #Parkinson's disease and dementia. Human trials have already begun. -- More innovation news: https://lnkd.in/dS3Np_JV #archtown #medicine #innovations
