Very excited for this year's My Green Lab global summit, September 18th and 19th! We have an incredible lineup of innovative speakers, leaders, and organizations at the forefront of sustainability. We are calling on the scientific community to "raise the bar" and rise above the greenwash to ensure lasting industry transformation through sustainability. Here's a quick preview of my opening message: · Pilot projects must expand into organization-wide initiatives. · Part-time 'green lab' staff should be given full-time roles, and the resources needed to succeed. · Policy incentives should evolve from being supported by a few funders and government agencies to the global standard · Data on green lab solutions must be continuously improved and easily accessible · First-party claims must be replaced with third-party certifications and standards · Impact reduction estimates must become accurate measurable reductions · Certified Green Labs must become the norm, not the exception Register today for My Green Lab Global Summit 2024. I look forward to seeing you there as we collaborate as a global community to ensure science leads in addressing sustainability, starting with its own footprint. https://lnkd.in/dz3CFQFy

♻️ Last Wednesday we had the pleasure of welcoming Ksenia Fedorova, assistant professor at Leiden University Centre for the Arts in Society (LUCAS). Ksenia gave an insightful presentation on a rather new topic for our community: how to combine art and science to generate novel ideas toward regenerative futures. 🌿 Regenerative fields, including regenerative development, differ from prevailing approaches to sustainability in that they move beyond harm mitigation as an aspirational objective, instead seeking to achieve net positive benefits for integrated natural and social systems. With the increasing urgency of global challenges including climate change, biodiversity loss and excessive resource use, considering the concept of regenerative futures is particularly timely. 💡Creative thinkers, artists and designers offer a plethora of perspectives to stimulate new visions and concrete ideas for biophilic and equitable innovation. 🌎Ranging from critique and speculative scenarios to constructive solutions, they can serve as inspiration to overcome the current impasses in our collective imaginary and enliven the potential for life-affirming futures. 🌐 Curious about Ksenia’s Talk? Find the recap and recording on our website: https://lnkd.in/eD4duMeH 🔍 Interested in revisiting previous Circular Industry discussions?
