I think the big difference between somebody who's good at managing people and somebody who becomes great at managing and leading people. Is there willingness to push themselves and always look to improve the skill set to have. So I think that's one thing that it's it it's always driven me about working with leaders. Leaders today have got to learn how to run hybrid teams. By hybrid, I don't just mean people who work at home and people who work in the office. I mean people who work alongside, you know, the cheap seats have already been taken. You know, we, we have seen people using AI to write blogs and. Marketing material and you know, I read a recent report where it was saving up to 50 to 60% of people's time, particularly around things like marketing and and so that, you know that's an obvious use. The less obvious use is using it to recall critical information and using it to to be an expert. This program is specifically designed for I would say ambitious managers who have identified. A challenge for themselves that could be inhibiting their success or slowing their success down. So they're generally people who are ambitious, who are are keen on improving the performance of their part of the business or their team. They're usually people who got their eye on their next role. So they're thinking about how to improve their leadership and set themselves up to that next role. So this program. For those who want to develop these new insights, who are willing to put in the time and effort, and who are genuinely willing to implement these ideas with the team, that's how you're going to get return on investment. It's not for it's not a fix for broken people, you know, Or ideally, we're looking for a set of candidates to join the program who can complement each other. They're all interested in this big question about improving leadership. Leadership is often quite hard to define what we're going to go through. A number of strategies that we know work and enable leaders to build a better environment and build more effective paints. The art of implementing these ideas is what makes the difference between someone who's good and somebody who becomes great. And that's why I'm getting a good cohort of people who are interested in solving these big problems. If you like, you know, all leadership comes down to a number of key challenges. Understanding your team is one. But on getting your team to understand each other, building scaffolding of leadership concepts that the whole management team understand so that that becomes. Your support system. And the only way to do that is to involve yourself in understanding some of these big ideas and strategies and then make sure your managers understand them too, and then actually implement them in real life in your work. And I suppose the other big question is why nine months? Like I've been doing this for 30 years. I have worked with thousands of managers across the globe and you know, the traditional way of doing it. And I made a lot of money doing this, which is run a three day workshop. It's sort of education entertainment to many ways. People come away rich with ideas of things they want to do and then very few things get implemented. And that's because their job is the day job and it takes over. And So what we've designed in this program is a way to let it digest these ideas over time so that there is time for them to be implemented. There's time to actually do the experiments to find out what works and what doesn't work. And the platform is we've literally. Create it expert content, things that we know to be true in work, powerfully selected content from our team of experts and coaches who work with us, and we've put it into a large language model and then we can design agents to interact with that. Large language model in specific ways so there's an agent could help you with culture building another one can help you with general leadership. Another one might be there to help you with your your MBA style information about how business works. This couldn't be done before this wonderful age by because the before version of this would have been go read this book go read these manuals go you know and spend time doing that and then come into workshop environments where we. Engage in discussions about how to use these concepts was not worth the AI technology and these AI mentors we built into the app. You can refresh your understanding of concept. You can ask directly how you might use it and and meeting settings. You can even ask it to help you build goals to reach your development objectives. So when we had this idea for the buttons could be. The technology simply wasn't there, but we persisted with the idea for over 10 years until technology and the idea of sort of coincided. And now we have this great opportunity to give people a practical tool that allows them to make inquiries in their own time when things really are happening. So AI becomes this tremendous tool that makes knowledge about leadership and specific instances of of situations. They're going on available when you need.

There’s an abundance of advice and lessons on leadership. This week, as I spoke about careers and leadership with participants of the #TandemLeadership program at, I found myself reflecting on my own tips. While preparing for the session, I came across an old handwritten note titled “Riikka’s Leadership Advice” — words I shared with my marketing team during my farewell speech at M-real (today #MetsäBoard) years ago. These notes, now captured in the image below, served as a foundation for our discussion. What followed was a rich conversation. Many of the questions raised by these young leaders echoed concerns familiar to more seasoned professionals. How do we avoid overloading our lives with too many commitments? How can we lead an area where we lack expertise (for now)? How do we handle energy-draining team members? And how will AI impact the leadership of expert work? My old advice still seems to hold — at least as a foundation for discussion. Many leadership basics remain, even as the world around us changes.
